On the evening of February 9 (the 30th of Tet), a delegation of officials from the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City led by Comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Party Committee, visited and wished a happy new year to officers and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City armed forces in 2024.
The delegation included comrades: Phan Van Mai, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Nguyen Ho Hai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Organization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Tran Kim Yen, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command.
Welcoming the delegation of leaders of Ho Chi Minh City to visit and wish them a happy new year right at the moment of New Year's Eve, Major General Phan Van Xung, Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command reported on some of the unit's operational results. In particular, in 2023, under the leadership and direction of the City Party Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Party Committee, the Military Region Command together with the coordination of the city's departments, branches and sectors and local Party committees and authorities, the city's armed forces promoted the spirit of initiative, creativity, solidarity, and efforts to overcome all difficulties and successfully complete assigned tasks. In particular, many tasks were completed excellently, leaving many outstanding marks in the field of work.
On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City leadership, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai sent New Year greetings to the officers and soldiers of the city's armed forces. He wished the city's armed forces to always complete their tasks excellently and reap many new victories.
According to comrade Phan Van Mai, in recent times, under the leadership of the Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Command, the organizations under the City Command have advised and organized the implementation of military and defense tasks and have excellently completed all aspects of work. Especially with the dynamism and creativity at the grassroots level with many good practices, effectively implementing many military and defense tasks and coordinating with localities, many results have been achieved.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai hopes that officers and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City armed forces will continue to promote the achievements in 2024 and the following years. Regarding the immediate task, comrade Phan Van Mai suggested that the Ho Chi Minh City Command needs to organize well the emulation movement to win in the city's armed forces, thereby spreading it to the city's patriotic emulation movement.
Specifically, he emphasized that the Ho Chi Minh City Command must be a key force, a core force to spread the city's patriotic and creative movement; must pioneer the special emulation campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day associated with the country's major holidays. Thereby, continuing to affirm the position and role of the city's armed forces, worthy of the trust of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City.
Regarding the organization of combat readiness during the 2024 Lunar New Year, he reminded officers and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City Command to perform combat readiness duties, ensuring absolute safety in the city; at the same time, units focus on reviewing and implementing well, taking care of and encouraging soldiers to complete their tasks well.
