In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year 2024, the peach blossom village at the foot of Nhat Tan Bridge (Tay Ho District, Hanoi) is a place that attracts many locals and tourists. They come here to buy peach blossoms, take photos or simply to feel the typical flavors and colors of Tet.
The humid weather near Tet makes flowers bloom early, creating a beautiful scene.
After the Kitchen God Festival, many peach gardens have sold a lot of trees, leaving only the stumps. Farmers quickly wrap and care for them to prepare for next year's crop.
Peach growing is a traditional occupation of Nhat Tan people. In the years 1990-1995, the area of rice fields in this ward was only about 34 hectares. After 1998, people moved to the Red River bank to grow peaches and since then it has grown to about 78 hectares. The whole area has more than 800 households engaged in peach growing.
In recent days, Hanoi has had gentle yellow sunshine creating a beautiful scene, attracting many young people to come and take photos.

For nearly 10 years, Mr. Doan Bach (Hanoi), a photography enthusiast, has always spent time visiting Nhat Tan peach blossom village every time Tet approaches. He took this photo series on the afternoon of the 26th of Tet. At this time, peach blossom gardens are in full bloom, showing off their bright pink color. Tourists from all over flock here to admire and take photos.
"On the days leading up to Tet, the entire peach village is filled with the pink and red colors of this flower. Looking from above, the village looks like it is covered in peach blossoms. This is a great place to feel and enjoy the bustling, exciting atmosphere of Tet," Mr. Bach shared.
According to Mr. Bach, this year the main road leading to the peach garden has been renovated, clean and spacious, making it convenient for vehicles to move around. "A few years ago, it was still a dirt road. If it rained or was humid, the road would be muddy," said Mr. Bach. "In my opinion, this year, due to the humid weather, the flowers bloomed early. People who come to see the peach garden are happy because of the beautiful scenery, but farmers are worried about the loss of value," said Mr. Bach.
At this time, many people drive to Nhat Tan garden to freely choose the peach blossom branch they like. However, the number of beautiful peach blossoms has been booked by many customers in advance, and the price is not cheaper than buying at the market on the street.
