In a joyful and colorful atmosphere, the Vietnamese Women's Association in the Kingdom of Belgium jubilantly held a ceremony to celebrate its 1st anniversary and International Women's Day on March 8.
The event took place on March 9 in Brussels, Belgium, attracting the participation of many Vietnamese women living, studying and working in all provinces and cities of Belgium.
The event also had the presence of representatives of the Vietnamese Women's Union in the Netherlands, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and exchange between Vietnamese women's organizations in Europe.
According to a VNA reporter in Brussels, under the clear blue sky and warm rays of early spring sunshine, Vietnamese women gracefully dressed in traditional ao dai, holding flowers, Belgian and Vietnamese flags, paraded around La Bourse Square - the center of Brussels.
The graceful image of the Vietnamese ao dai has attracted the attention of many international tourists.

Many people enjoy taking pictures and expressing their admiration for the gentle, elegant beauty of Vietnamese women.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Pham My Anh - President of the Vietnamese Women's Association in the Kingdom of Belgium - highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity, attachment and continuous efforts of Vietnamese women living and working in provinces and cities across Belgium.
She emphasized that over the past year, the association has promoted its role as a bridge, helping the Vietnamese women's community, while contributing to affirming the good qualities of Vietnamese women abroad.
On behalf of the Executive Board of the Association, Ms. Minh Lien - Vice President of the Association - reviewed the outstanding activities over the past year, affirming the Association's continuous efforts.
In particular, the Association has actively participated in cultural exchange programs with Vietnamese women's associations in Europe, creating opportunities for women to connect and share valuable experiences.
Ms. Minh Lien also emphasized the practical activities that the Vietnamese Women's Association in Belgium has organized to create a development environment for the Vietnamese women's community in Belgium, such as tours to help members better understand Belgian culture and society, and expand international exchange relationships.
In particular, the Association has focused on the young generation of Vietnamese in Belgium through youth programs, aiming to create a positive space for young people to preserve Vietnamese cultural identity, while developing life skills and social integration.
A major success of the past year was the establishment of a women's association in Brussels, which helps connect women in the region and support each other in life and work.
In addition, the Vietnamese Women's Association in Belgium has actively participated in the Overseas Vietnamese Forum, contributing its voice to building a strong Vietnamese community, as well as participating in community support activities.
The sisters have continuously visited and helped people in difficult circumstances in Belgium, and called for donations to support Vietnamese people who are suffering heavily from natural disasters, especially storm No. 3 (storm Yagi).
The Association also established a Cultural Center to meet the learning and cultural exchange needs of the Vietnamese community in Belgium, creating opportunities for everyone to maintain and promote national culture right in a foreign land.
Not stopping there, the Association also launched the Heritage Ao Dai Club, an initiative to introduce and promote Vietnamese Ao Dai to international friends, contributing to enhancing the traditional cultural values of the nation.
All these activities reflect the solidarity, creativity and enthusiasm of the women in preserving and developing Vietnamese cultural identity in Belgium.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium, Mr. Nguyen Ba Sang - Counselor in charge of community work - highly appreciated the positive activities that the Vietnamese Women's Association in Belgium has carried out over the past year.
He emphasized that in the traditional ao dai, women not only show their charm but also become "cultural ambassadors," contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese ao dai to international friends.
In addition, Mr. Nguyen Ba Sang hopes that the Women's Union will continue to promote the achieved results, especially focusing on developing Vietnamese language in the community.
He emphasized that there should be many practical activities so that the young generation born and raised in Belgium can use Vietnamese fluently, understand and preserve the national cultural identity.
Responding to this spirit, Ms. Mai Anh - a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Women's Association in Belgium - said that the Association is nurturing a plan to establish a Vietnamese Youth Center in Belgium.
This center will play an important role in promoting the Vietnamese language learning movement as well as creating a beneficial cultural living environment for the young generation of Vietnamese origin in Belgium.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, members performed together to praise their homeland, Vietnam and Spring.
The songs and graceful dances of the sisters made the meeting more lively and joyful, contributing to a colorful cultural program.
Besides cultural exchange activities, attendees also have the opportunity to enjoy traditional Vietnamese dishes, reminiscent of the flavors of their homeland.
The one-year anniversary event is not only an opportunity for the Association to look back on its achievements, but also an opportunity to connect and spread the spirit of solidarity, helping Vietnamese women in Belgium to develop more and more strongly in the international community./.
