Currently, the Kien Giang Provincial Journalists Association has 10 grassroots associations and 01 affiliated club with a total of 215 members of the Vietnam Journalists Association and 56 members of the Press Photo Club of the Provincial Journalists Association. As a common home for members and journalists in the area, in recent times, the Provincial Journalists Association has had many exciting and practical activities, successfully completing the tasks assigned by the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee. The Association has had many activities to serve well in supporting and helping members, journalists, and reporters to improve their political level, professional expertise and in the work of journalists in the area.

In particular, the Provincial Journalists Association has applied information technology to all stages of its activities, implemented experience initiatives, achieved high efficiency in its activities and provided press information, journalism skills for journalists and press information for the community. Journalist Doan Hong Phuc - Permanent Vice President of the Kien Giang Provincial Journalists Association said that in 2021, the Association will implement the topic "Application of Zalo social network, information exchange within the entire Provincial Journalists Association system and connection with press agencies in the province". By 2022, the topic will be "Building and operating a digital transformation website and social network accounts to provide information and skills for members, journalists and the community". In 2023, implement the topic "Applying multiple digital technology platforms on cyberspace to serve the management and information provision for members... contributing to promoting the digital transformation policy at the local level" ... All are deployed to promote efficiency in management and operation as well as support members and journalists quickly and promptly.
“This is a serious activity that needs to be carried out systematically and scientifically, so the Standing Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association has issued a Regulation on the application of information technology to effectively carry out management and operation work via social networks, practically serving the tasks of the year, contributing to the good implementation of the Resolution of the 7th Congress of the Kien Giang Provincial Journalists Association. The Association has established 6 internal Zalo groups to serve the exchange of information about the association's activities, such as the Executive Committee group, the Secretary group, the Inspection Committee group, the Journalists Association group with the radio stations of districts and cities, thanks to which all information on direction and operation is unified and timely. In addition, at the grassroots level, each Branch or club has established its own Zalo group to exchange information within the Branch with 12 groups" - Mr. Doan Hong Phuc said.

From 2021 to now, Zalo groups have been effective, practically serving the regular work requirements of the association's standing body. Maintaining contact between the standing body and the affiliated branches and the Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Centers of districts and cities is regular, continuous, exchanging information fully and accurately. Unscheduled tasks are also ensured to be informed and handled quickly. Discussions are carried out and there is quick response from the leaders of affiliated units. In 2021 alone, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association and 18 Zalo groups of affiliated units have posted information, directives, management documents, meeting invitations, new information about the association's activities on group 410, promptly supporting documents and documents to help members, journalists, reporters work... even during the period of social distancing to prevent and fight the epidemic.
In addition, the Provincial Journalists Association also opened training courses on writing instructions, training and sharing experiences for members and reporters on how to recognize fake news, incorrect news, toxic news, reactionary news, hostile news and skills in verifying sources, processing information, etc. Focusing on how to post and write articles on social networks to refute the widespread false and hostile viewpoints and fake news on social networks.

The Provincial Journalists Association recognizes that Zalo Official Account is not only a technology platform that provides solutions to support localities in the process of building e-government, but this platform is also an information channel closely linked to the social life activities of the people, so I propose to establish this information page to serve the needs of improving the political, professional and technical qualifications of members, journalists, reporters and the entire community in cyberspace".

The main content of this news site is to regularly inform about activities within the Vietnam Journalists Association system, the Provincial Journalists Association, information about media - press activities, journalism skills... To attract interest and attention for wider communication, the Provincial Journalists Association also set up a Facebook account and took advantage of the platform with the largest number of users to share information from the Vietnam Journalists Association Electronic Information Portal, the electronic newspapers of the Party, the State and localities to promptly provide to communities and journalists.
Journalist Doan Hong Phuc said that in order to promote the effectiveness of applying digital technology platforms to serve the political tasks of agencies and units, in the coming time, the Provincial Journalists Association is asking for the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee's approval to establish an electronic information page to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership, direction, and management of operations. In addition, the transmission of information, executive and directive documents from the standing agency to the association's bases, members, journalists and reporters all use QR codes. Users can easily receive information and documents quickly and promptly, anytime, anywhere, significantly saving paper and ink as before. Newspaper publications, special issues of the Provincial Journalists Association and publications participating in the Spring Press Festival are all provided with QR codes for readers to view conveniently and easily on the internet.
“ Every year, the Provincial Journalists Association will register one to two initiatives, emulation models, and applications on cyberspace. The first model is to design Infographics about Uncle Ho's teachings, as documents to provide to members, reporters, and journalists to learn about Uncle Ho's professional journalism. The Provincial Journalists Association strives that by 2025, up to 90% of documents, forms, especially the organization of press awards, will be set up using QR codes, ” added journalist Doan Hong Phuc.
