Kien Giang launches emulation campaign to celebrate 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day

On September 10, the Kien Giang Provincial Journalists Association held a signing ceremony of a competition agreement between the Association's branches, the Provincial Journalists Association Office and the Provincial Press Photo Club under the Provincial Journalists Association.

The Kien Giang Provincial Journalists Association has more than 230 members, operating in 10 branches and a Press Photo Club with nearly 60 members. The Association has called on all members to promote their intelligence and creativity to create many quality press works, contributing to the excellent completion of the political tasks of agencies, units and localities.

Journalist Le Thanh Phuong - Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial Journalists Association said: “In addition to competing in the field of professional journalism, the emulation movement also has a strong humanitarian character, contributing to educating the traditions of cadres, civil servants and journalists, building solidarity houses for the poor and organizing many other social activities. This is an activity that demonstrates the spirit of journalism always towards the community, closely attached to the lives of the people”.

The emulation movement does not only stop at strictly following the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, but also encourages journalists to participate extensively in professional activities and emulation movements of the province. Including participating in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, implementing the Charter of the Vietnam Journalists Association, implementing the 10 regulations on professional ethics and rules for using social networks of Vietnamese journalists; uniting, innovating, building a strong association; completing assigned tasks every year.

One of the key tasks is for members, journalists and reporters to register to create over 1,000 quality press works, promoting propaganda for major events of the country and locality, such as the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the Lunar New Year 2025.

The emulation movement pays special attention to improving the quality of content of all types of journalism, from print newspapers, electronic newspapers, to radio and television. Notably, the Journalists Associations actively participated in the Provincial Press Awards, the Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Awards, the National Press Awards and regional press awards. A total of 12 affiliated units registered to submit 122 entries including the following types: Print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television and press photos.

In the emulation content, the branches will have many good initiatives and experiences signed such as: Digitizing documents, archived documents and improving the effectiveness of implementing the digital transformation policy in the activities of the association; Promoting the effectiveness of voting and rewarding members and reporters with high-quality works; The role of the Journalists Association in innovating and improving the quality of propaganda on electronic information pages in the province; Socializing press and sports activities, contributing to improving the effectiveness of implementing the Association movement...

The emulation movement to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day launched by the Kien Giang Provincial Journalists Association is a meaningful activity, aiming to affirm the important role of the press in the country's development. This is not only an occasion to honor journalists, but also an opportunity for journalists to contribute more to the common cause, create works of lasting value and contribute to social development.

Representatives of the Secretariat of the Journalists Associations, the Office of the Provincial Journalists Association and the Press Photo Club under the Association under the Provincial Journalists Association signed the emulation agreement.

Previously, the Provincial Journalists Association implemented Decision 1312/QD-TU of the Standing Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee promulgating the Regulations on the organization and operation of mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State at the provincial level; implemented Official Dispatch No. 229/CV-HNBVN on the policy of implementing the action plan of the Vietnam Journalists Association in 2025 and soliciting opinions on organizing the At Ty Spring Press Festival 2025, implementing the topics and content of publishing the special issue Nguoi Lam Bao Kien Giang.
