Lam Dong will build a dry port in Duc Trong district.

On July 19, the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province said that the Department has just requested the Department of Planning and Investment, Construction, Natural Resources and Environment, Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Duc Trong district to base on regulations, planning, and land use plans of the industry and locality to determine the location of the land planned to build Duc Trong dry port.

At the same time, research and send information documents, regulations, and instructions from relevant sectors and localities (current land use status, land use planning, expected form of investor selection...) to implement the project.

The above information must be sent before August 10 for the Department of Transport to study, synthesize and advise the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee on the content and roadmap for implementing the Dry Port project in Duc Trong district. For the Provincial People's Committee to call for investment from enterprises and organize implementation according to the provisions of Article 32 of the Investment Law 2020.

It is known that according to the planning for the development of the dry port system in the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, Duc Trong dry port has an area of ​​5-10 hectares, with a throughput capacity of 50,000-100,000 TEU/year (the unit of measurement for cargo capacity is not exact, equivalent to 20 feet). By 2050, this port will have an area of ​​10 hectares.

According to the plan, Duc Trong dry port is included in the list of priority projects (located in the logistics area adjacent to Dau Giay - Lien Khuong highway and Lien Khuong airport).

In the land use planning until 2030 of Duc Trong district approved by Lam Dong province, the above logistics area has an area of ​​about 224 hectares.

Previously, at a meeting with the leaders of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan concluded that according to the provisions of the Law on Planning and Development Planning, the dry port system is a technical and specialized planning under the approval authority of the Prime Minister, there is no detailed planning of the dry port system.

"Therefore, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province is requested to determine the location of the land planned for the construction of Duc Trong dry port in the local land use planning and plan. On that basis, the People's Committee of the province calls on enterprises to invest in accordance with regulations and organize implementation in accordance with Article 32 of the Investment Law 2020.

The detailed plan of the dry port will be shown by the investor in the investment proposal report and in the next steps of the project (feasibility study, technical design). In case of any problems, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province is requested to send written comments to the Ministry of Transport for a response as a basis for implementation to ensure regulations", Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan concluded.
