With a border of over 330km, the crime situation in the border area of Cao Bang province is complicated. Therefore, the provincial Border Guard has directed the unit to increase patrols, combat and prevent all types of crimes.
Tra Linh International Border Guard Station is assigned to manage nearly 29km of border. The area is complicated, prone to smuggling and illegal immigration activities.

The family of Ms. Chu Thi Cai (Ban Khau hamlet, Thong Nhat commune, Ha Lang district) voluntarily moved the livestock pen more than 20m away from the house. After completion, the family's living space was significantly improved. Ms. Cai shared that her family was promoted and mobilized by Quang Long Border Guard Station and local authorities, now the house is clean, the children are less sick, and she also feels healthier because she does not have to live with the stench from livestock waste.
In 2024, Cao Bang province eliminated over 7,000 temporary and dilapidated houses. The Border Guard force contributed to that success.
Major Nguyen Vu Le - Deputy Political Commissar of Ta Lung International Border Guard Station said that the unit has developed a specific plan and program of activities to coordinate with departments, branches, and organizations to support and help with working days, mobilize officers and soldiers in the unit to donate money and socialize to help 4 households with a support level of 44 million VND/household.
The Border Guard's practical actions have brought joy to many poor families in the border area. The family of Ms. Dam Thi Nguyet (Na Sao hamlet, Be Van Dan commune, Quang Hoa district) is in a particularly difficult situation. Her husband has passed away, leaving Ms. Nguyet alone to raise two children and live in an old house that has been seriously degraded for a long time.
In 2024, the Border Guard Station and the local authorities coordinated to help Ms. Nguyet's family build a new house. Ms. Nguyet emotionally shared that her family's circumstances were very difficult, but now that the Party, the State, especially the officers and soldiers of the Ta Lung International Border Guard Station have helped build a solid house, she and her three children are very happy and sincerely thank them.
The efforts of the Border Guard have been changing the lives of the border areas day by day. Only when the people in the border areas have a stable life, feel secure in production, and stay in their villages, can they join the functional forces in firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the national border.
