Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia acknowledged and praised the efforts, creativity and achievements of the Council over the past 20 years.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the important results that the Council has achieved in the past 20 years have contributed to the successful completion of its assigned functions and tasks; and practically contributed to promoting the development of the country's literature and arts.
The Head of the Central Propaganda Department suggested that the Council continue to promote and mobilize to the maximum the experience, intelligence, and enthusiasm of its members, scientists, theoretical researchers, and literary and artistic critics nationwide, closely follow and understand more deeply the diverse and rich practice of literature and art; increase the quantity, associated with improving the quality of advisory reports for the Party and State, especially specialized and in-depth advisory.
Promoting lessons learned over 20 years of development and growth, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia hopes that the Council will continue to build an increasingly professional and comprehensively strong Council, constantly innovate, and improve the quality and efficiency of its work.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Ky, Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts, stated that over the past 20 years, the Council has focused on theoretical research, summarizing practices, and advising the Party and State to develop and lead the implementation of many resolutions and policies at the strategic and macro levels on culture and arts; advising and supporting many departments, ministries, branches, localities, agencies, and units in the direction and management of culture and arts; organizing many seminars, talks, and scientific research; completing state-level and party-level scientific projects and topics.
The Council also conducts many practical surveys and theoretical research at home and abroad, and advises leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, and localities on many important and urgent issues related to culture and arts.
Every year, the Council organizes the appraisal and awards to authors with outstanding works of literary and artistic theory and criticism and supports the publication of high-quality book manuscripts.
As of September 2023, 248 works have been awarded the Prize; 147 manuscripts have been supported to be published as monographs.

Over 20 years of development and growth, 7 leaders and Council members were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for literature, arts, science and technology by the President; 25 leaders and Council members were awarded the State Prize for literature, arts, science and technology by the President and many other prestigious awards.
At the ceremony, the Central Council of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts and the Editorial Board of the Journal of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts launched the e-Journal with the domain name https://lyluanphebinh.vn, marking a new step in the development of the Journal's content, form, and technology, extending the information channel, expanding the research forum, and academic exchange on literature and arts on digital platforms and Internet connection.
