Vaccination against swine fever in Ninh Giang district

On the afternoon of October 15, a representative of the provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine said that Hai Duong had the first two localities to complete the procedures for purchasing and implementing African swine fever vaccination for pigs at household farms. Hai Duong City injected 3,920 doses, Kinh Mon town injected 1,660 doses of African swine fever vaccine.

Binh Giang district has completed the procurement procedures but has not yet started vaccination. Thanh Ha and Gia Loc districts are implementing bidding procedures to purchase African swine fever vaccine.

Previously, Hai Duong had injected nearly 2,000 doses of African swine fever vaccine to evaluate the safety of the vaccine. The results showed that all test samples were immune, and the vaccinated pigs developed normally. The entire province plans to inject about 60,500 doses of vaccine to prevent African swine fever in all localities.

For the implementation of the 2024 autumn vaccination plan, the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine has provided millions of doses of various vaccines to districts, towns and cities. Including over 3.3 million doses of avian influenza vaccine, 115,970 doses of swine fever vaccine, 89,170 doses of swine erysipelas vaccine, 8,630 doses of anthrax vaccine for buffalo and cattle, over 34,000 doses of rabies vaccine for dogs...

By October 15, Hai Duong had vaccinated about 50% of the livestock and poultry that were required to be vaccinated. The province's goal for this season is to have 80% of the livestock and poultry vaccinated against the disease.
