Encourage business innovation

InnoEx - an event to promote innovation and growth for the Vietnamese and ASEAN business community opened on the morning of August 24, 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City.

InnoEx has the participation of nearly 2,000 business leaders and experts at the forums, along with representatives from more than 70 investment funds, banks, and financial institutions in Vietnam and internationally, and more than 200 businesses and startups from more than 50 countries and territories.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc said that attracting a large community of businesses, investors, scientists, and startups to InnoEx 2023 is a welcome signal, creating convenience and encouraging innovation.

"HCMC leaders always support innovation and create the best conditions to promote innovation because only with innovation can we move forward and achieve the goal of sustainable development," emphasized Vice Chairman of HCMC People's Committee Duong Anh Duc.

Vietnam is considered a “rising star” in innovation. Recently, many technology “giants” such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon… have shown great expectations for the Vietnamese market through many innovation programs to support Vietnamese businesses and startups in emerging markets. Therefore, the special feature of InnoEx 2023 is the “combined strength” with long-standing successful programs such as the Forum for business leaders - Vietnam CEO Forum and the largest startup competition in Southeast Asia - Startup Wheel.

With this convergence, InnoEx is considered one of the largest events on innovation for businesses with the participation of 100 excellent startups from Vietnam and internationally, selected from more than 2,000 applications on 5 continents to introduce their startups to investors.

“At InnoEx 2023, the presence of innovative companies and pioneering leaders interested in innovation is a starting point for realizing the desire to accelerate and innovate,” shared Ms. Truong Ly Hoang Phi, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of IBP, Head of InnoEx Organizing Committee.

In that context, Vietnam needs to accelerate and there is no other way than the driving force of innovation. Mr. Albert Antoine, a member of the InnoEx 2023 advisory board, said: “We talk a lot about innovation, but not all businesses understand it correctly and apply it correctly. Innovation is not just a story of digital transformation or technology, innovation starts from thinking and it is the luggage of every entrepreneur in the business journey”.

InnoEx is co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association, the Youth Startup Support Center (BSSC) and IBP Investment Promotion and Business Support Joint Stock Company.

This event is also of great significance because it takes place in the particularly important context of Ho Chi Minh City when it is putting Resolution 98 into practice and at the same time has great significance before the 2023 City Economic Forum scheduled to take place from September 13 to 17, 2023 with the theme "Green Growth - Journey towards zero emissions".
