Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area Focuses on International Tourist Market

In 2023, along with tourist attractions in the whole province such as Trang An Scenic Tourist Area, Mua Cave, Tam Coc-Bich Dong..., Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area has made an impressive breakthrough in the number of visitors as well as revenue with 423,261 visitors, accounting for 7% of the total number of tourists in the whole province, thereby contributing significantly to the impressive achievements of Ninh Binh tourism industry.

Growth spurt

According to statistics from the Department of Tourism, in 2023, the whole province welcomed over 6.5 million visitors, an increase of 76.4% over the same period, exceeding the annual plan by 22.5%; revenue reached nearly VND 6,380 billion, nearly 2 times higher than the previous year and exceeding the annual plan by 23.8%.

This result shows that Ninh Binh has seriously implemented Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP dated May 18, 2023 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to accelerate recovery and accelerate effective and sustainable tourism development. At the same time, it grasps new tourism trends and proposes appropriate solutions, especially tourism promotion, advertising, and information work that is focused on synchronous implementation.

Implementing the synchronous solutions of the Provincial People's Committee on restoring and accelerating effective and sustainable tourism development during the year, famous scenic spots continued to be embellished and upgraded, the system of tourist accommodation facilities received investment and development attention, many new tourism products were put into exploitation and use...

In addition, tourist areas throughout the province have coordinated to organize many cultural exchange activities and events to introduce, promote and honor the values ​​of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, relics and scenic spots of Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh province in particular. Thereby contributing to increasing the number of visitors to Ninh Binh, enhancing the position, image and people of the ancient capital on the domestic and international tourism map.

Typically, Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area, thanks to careful preparation and seizing favorable opportunities when the COVID-19 epidemic was controlled and the economy recovered, the Board of Directors of the Tourist Area focused on building and perfecting human and material resources, embellishing the landscape, and diversifying products and services to meet the needs of tourists.

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa, General Director of Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area shared: With careful preparation and anticipating opportunities for growth recovery, in 2023, the tourist area welcomed the highest number of visitors ever.

Accordingly, the number of visitors to the tourist area in 2023 will reach 452,211, an increase of 55% compared to 2022, domestic visitors will account for over 80%. It is noted that some cities are major tourist centers with a very high number of visitors to Thung Nham such as: Hanoi accounts for 18.2%, Ho Chi Minh City accounts for 9.3%...

In particular, the explosion of weekends before and after March 8, April 30 - May 1, holidays, Tet has reached nearly 10 thousand visitors. The tourist area also maintains swimming pool services, weekly resort voucher products, check-in points on the flower island... has turned Thung Nham into a resort that attracts visitors in the summer, solving the long-standing low season problem of Ninh Binh tourism.

Aiming at international market

The impressive figures of Thung Nham Tourist Area partly reflect the diverse and prosperous picture of hundreds of tourism service providers in Ninh Binh province in recent times.

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa, General Director of Thung Nham Ecotourism Area added: Entering 2024, Thung Nham Ecotourism Area sets an estimated business target of 25% increase. To achieve this goal, Thung Nham will continue to invest in technical facilities for tourism; diversify products to meet the needs and tastes of tourists. Focus on many effective solutions to fully utilize sales activities to promote the image of Thung Nham to the international tourism market. Continue to deploy and effectively implement existing and dominant tourism products.

On the occasion of the traditional New Year, Thung Nham organizes many cultural and artistic activities to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

Waiting for the peak season of Ninh Binh tourism, during the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival, Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area also launched the product "Playing Tet in Thung Nham Mountain Town". Visitors to Thung Nham during Tet will be able to participate in the following programs: Park entertainment to immerse themselves in unique traditional performances of local people; traditional art space, enjoy concerts, solo performances, singing, puppetry... and immerse themselves in the folk music space; experience the unique culture of the Thai and Muong people: making wine, making men men, making sticky rice, weaving... These are attractive and new points that Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area has put into service for visitors to experience, and at the same time is a solution to stimulate demand and promote to domestic and foreign tourism markets.

An important solution implemented in the first days of the new year is to have policies and solutions to attract international visitors to Thung Nham. In the immediate future, Thung Nham will connect and exploit international visitors staying in Tam Coc; international visitors to Ninh Binh through travel agencies; display Thung Nham entrance tickets on international visitor platforms Klook...

At the same time, Thung Nham will focus on training to improve the quality of human resources and local community awareness of developing ecotourism products in Thung Nham. Aiming to build the image of civilized and friendly boatmen and become tour guides to introduce to customers through internal training courses. At the same time, well implement the direction of the Department, industry, and locality on tourism management, ensure security and order, environmental sanitation, and civilized culture in the tourist area.
