Prosecuted 2 people who assaulted a reporter of Hanoi Radio and Television Station while on duty

On the evening of June 17, the leader of Dong Da District Police said that this agency had just issued a decision to initiate a criminal case and prosecute Pham Van Phuong (42 years old, residing in Xuan Phu Commune, Xuan Truong District, Nam Dinh) and Le Van Hung (39 years old, residing in Khai Quang Ward, Vinh Yen City, Vinh Phuc) for the crime of "intentionally causing injury".

Hung and Phuong are the two people who assaulted a reporter from Hanoi Radio and Television Station while the reporter was working.

Previously, on the afternoon of June 6, when a group of reporters from Hanoi Radio and Television deployed cameras to record people buying rechargeable fans during the peak of the heat in front of an electric fan store on Dong Cac Street, a subject approached and asked them not to film or take photos.

Despite being told that the work area was underground, in a place where there were no signs prohibiting filming or taking photos, the subject still loudly yelled, grabbed the collar, and kicked the TTC reporter (Hanoi Radio and Television Station) to the ground.

Next, another subject standing outside also rushed in to assault the TTC reporter. When the reporter was lying on the street, these two subjects continued to be aggressive, despite everyone's attempts to stop them.

After the incident, a group of reporters from Hanoi Radio and Television went to the O Cho Dua Police Station to report the incident and took the TTC reporter to the hospital for emergency treatment due to multiple injuries.

Given the nature of the incident, the Director of Hanoi City Police has directed Dong Da District Police to investigate and strictly handle the subjects according to regulations.

Dong Da District Police summoned Phuong and Hung to the headquarters for questioning.

At the police station, Phuong and Hung confessed to all the acts of beating and injuring Mr. TTC.
