Agricultural and rural tourism has recently become a promising direction, helping to effectively exploit the potential of rural areas and opening up opportunities for economic restructuring towards sustainability and multi-value in localities in Phu Tho province.
Lam Thao Agricultural Cooperative (Phung Nguyen Commune, Lam Thao District) grows grapes organically, ensuring food safety, serving tourists for sightseeing and experience.
In agricultural production, in recent years, the province has focused on developing many types of crops and livestock with high economic value, organizing production in the direction of commodity products of specialties. Models and projects linking production, processing of agricultural products, and rural craft villages have been promoted, closely linked with tourism activities to create added value. The province encourages the development of agricultural economy in the direction of multi-value in regions, cooperatives and farms to combine production with tourism, experience, initially forming a number of regions such as: Doan Hung specialty grapefruit region; concentrated tea growing region in Long Coc commune (Tan Son district), Dich Qua commune (Thanh Son); Tu Xa vegetable growing area, black grape growing area in Phung Nguyen commune (Lam Thao district)... In addition, OCOP product production facilities such as: Rice noodles, Hung Lo banh chung, Thanh Son sour meat... are also gradually integrated with tourism activities, visitors can learn about the production process, experience the reality and enjoy local specialties.

In the province, a number of stops and sightseeing spots for agricultural production have been built and established in tours and tourist routes such as: Tan Duc vegetable growing village, Hung Lo food processing village associated with the Viet Tri City tour route; Dich Qua tea village, Van Luong tea village associated with the Viet Tri - Xuan Son route; visiting and experiencing Hung Lo noodle and rice vermicelli products, Gia Thanh conical hats, Phu Ho tea, Van Du carpentry, Doan Hung grapefruit...
Up to now, the whole province has built and developed more than 300 products meeting OCOP standards. OCOP products in the area not only meet quality and food safety standards and regulations, but also focus on packaging and design, ensuring aesthetic factors, and have the potential to develop into tourism products.
Lam Thao Agricultural Cooperative (Phung Nguyen Commune, Lam Thao District) cultivates over 2 hectares of milk grapes and Ha Den grapes. For about 4 years now, the Cooperative has developed an experiential tourism model in the garden. Mr. Nguyen Van Ha - Director of the Cooperative said: "Grapes are harvested in 2 main crops, in June and October, each crop lasts about 2 months. During the season, we welcome an average of 100 visitors per day to visit and experience. To expand the model, we focus on organic care, ensuring quality and diversity of products such as fresh grapes, grape syrup, and grape wine. The experiential tourism model in the vineyard will contribute to introducing, promoting products, and consuming products on the spot."
Besides the achieved results, agricultural tourism still has difficulties such as: The scale of agricultural production, craft villages and rural tourist destinations is still small, competitiveness is limited, there are not many quality products with brands. Agricultural products are still simple and not really attractive to tourists, processed products are few, low added value...
To overcome the above limitations, in the coming time, functional sectors and localities in the province will strengthen trade promotion activities, build brands, advertise agricultural products, connect production - consumption of agricultural products. Promote the implementation of management, protection and development of brands, improve the quality, design, packaging of agricultural products, typical products with advantages in the province. Guide, train, improve the qualifications of enterprises, cooperatives, farm owners, eco-tourism areas, build a professional, friendly, safe and civilized tourism culture.
