According to Dr. People's Artist Pham Anh Phuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Dance Artists Association and Head of the Steering Committee, Vietnam Dance Week 2024 will have the participation of 8 art troupes with more than 100 artists. This is the largest annual dance event in Vietnam with a national and international scope. The events at the week aim to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the nation, thereby comprehensively and objectively assessing the picture of contemporary professional dance art. From there, orient and comprehensively improve the quality of the 4 areas of composition, theory, training and performance for the purpose of building and developing Vietnamese dance art.
“Vietnam Dance Week 2024 is an activity that focuses on the roots, a place to foster artistic creativity with the goal of building and developing an advanced Vietnamese dance art with strong national identity, contributing to building a system of community and social values, meeting the requirements of sustainable development of the country. The Organizing Committee wishes to create a connection between Vietnamese dance art in general, and the dance art of the Central Highlands ethnic communities in particular, with contemporary art flows in the region and internationally,” said Dr. People's Artist Pham Anh Phuong.
Immediately after the opening ceremony of Vietnam Dance Week 2024, in the space of Kon Klor Cultural Communal House, a typical architecture of the Central Highlands indigenous people, delegates and the public who love the art of dance enjoyed the first event of the performance of the contemporary dance SeSan. Through the art of dance, the artists honor the most powerful and pristine beauty of the Central Highlands culture; at the same time, clearly depict the cultural exchange as well as the community connection of the indigenous peoples along the Se San River.
During the Vietnam Dance Week 2024 taking place in Kon Tum, the Vietnam Dance Artists Association also organized the Vietnam National Dance Works Competition and the Scientific Workshop "The trend of returning to the original elements in contemporary movement art"...
The Organizing Committee expects that the Vietnam Dance Week 2024 taking place in Kon Tum province will be a cultural highlight to honor the traditional cultural values of the Central Highlands ethnic communities in general, and of the land and people of Kon Tum in particular, creating a driving force to promote the cause of building and developing the local economy, culture, society and tourism.
