Opening of the exhibition and award ceremony of the "Happy Vietnam" Contest

(NADS) - On December 11, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists held the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition and Award Ceremony of the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024"

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications emphasized that this is an important event to honor people across the country, overseas Vietnamese and international friends who apply digital technology to create photos and videos about the country and people of Vietnam.

This is the second year the Contest has been held online on the Vietnam Image Promotion Platform at: https://vietnam.vn. Compared to 2023, the Contest has had a strong spread when all 63 provinces and cities have authors participating.

After 7 months of launching (from March 20, 2024 to October 15, 2024), the Organizing Committee received more than 10,300 photo and video entries with 600 foreign authors and about 270 overseas Vietnamese authors registering for the contest.

The Organizing Committee selected 60 videos and 150 photos to display at the exhibition, of which 34 outstanding works were awarded. Each photo and video category has 17 awards, including 1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals, 3 Bronze Medals, 10 Encouragement Awards and 1 most voted work.

In the photo category, the Gold Medal went to the work "Sweet Happiness" (Vu Dieu Hoa); the Silver Medal went to the works "Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte cycling around Hanoi" (Duong Van Giang), "Racing on the construction site of the 500kV line circuit 3" (Tran Huy Hung).

The work "Sweet Happiness" by author Vu Dieu Hoa won the Gold Medal in the Photo category.

In the video category, the Gold Medal went to the work "Gia Lai epic land" (Nguyen Van Hoan); the Silver Medal went to the works "Leng keng di he - For a happy Vietnam" (Tue Giang, Khanh An, Dieu Huong, Nhat Anh), "A tale of Phu Quoc" (Dau Van Duy).

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, member of the Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications and Mr. Ngo Dong Hai, member of the Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department awarded Gold Medals to 2 authors whose works won Gold Medals.

Mr. Truong Quang Hoai Nam, Deputy of the Central External Relations Commission and Ms. Tran Thi Thu Dong, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists awarded Silver Medals to the winners.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of External Information, Ministry of Information and Communications and Mr. Ma The Anh, Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the Encouragement Prize and the Choice Prize.

The contest is a testament to the patriotism and passion of people across the country in promoting the image of our country, people, and beautiful cultural traditions to the international community.

Many works are presented with a new, objective perspective on life, society and the development of the country and people of Vietnam, conveying the message of a happy, civilized and powerful Vietnam.

The authors come from different professions, different ages, different ethnicities, different languages, using different devices, but all represent a peaceful, beautiful, dynamically developing and happy Vietnam.
