On the evening of May 26, at Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, the Buddhist Cultural Committee, Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Ho Chi Minh City opened the exhibition "Sacred fire lights up golden history", opening a series of events for Buddha's Birthday Week, Buddhist calendar 2567 - Gregorian calendar 2023.

The event was attended by Most Venerable Thich Le Trang, Standing Member of the Executive Council, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Organizing Committee, along with the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of the Executive Committees of districts, Thu Duc City and many Buddhists and tourists.
Most Venerable Thich Tri Chon, Member of the Executive Council, Head of the Buddhist Culture Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, delivered the opening speech, sharing the significance of the Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc fire 60 years ago, at the old Le Van Duyet - Phan Dinh Phung intersection (now Nguyen Dinh Chieu - Cach Mang Thang Tam intersection), from which Buddhist organizations and sects mobilized to establish the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
Venerable Thich Tri Chon affirmed: “To inherit the merits of our ancestors and light up the lamp of our ancestors, on the occasion of the 2567th Buddha's Birthday, commemorating the 60th anniversary of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc's self-immolation, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City organizes a series of activities for the Buddha's Birthday Week, including an exhibition on the life and practice of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc.”

Venerable Thich Tri Chon added: “In this exhibition, nearly 100 photos about the life of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc are introduced, some of which are published for the first time. Ancient statues and symbols of ancient pagodas from the North, Central and South represent the flow of Buddhism over more than 2,000 years and the miraculous light of the Buddha shining on the homeland of Vietnam. Another bright torch of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc lights up the Bodhi mind of Buddhists today.”
The exhibition “Sacred Fire Shines Brightly in Golden History” displays a number of images and documents about the life and career of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc, his relics and the martyrs and predecessors who contributed to the persecution in 1963, to celebrate the Buddha's birthday in Buddhist calendar 2567, and commemorate the 60th anniversary of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc's self-immolation.

Buddha's Birthday Week in Buddhist calendar 2567 will take place from May 26 to June 2 (April 8 to 15, Quy Mao year).
On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City awarded Certificates of Merit to members of the Buddhist Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City for their active contributions to activities during the Buddha's Birthday Week.
