Opening of the Artistic Photography Exhibition “Dak Lak - Convergence and Identity”

On the morning of November 1, at 10/3 Square, the Provincial People's Committee held the Award Ceremony of the 2024 "Dak Lak - Convergence and Identity" Art Photography Contest and the Opening of the Photo Exhibition. Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee H' Yim Kđoh; Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions Ma The Anh; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities of the province.

After more than 6 months of launching, the 2024 "Dak Lak - Convergence and Identity" Art Photography Contest has received 877 works from 117 authors from 30 provinces and cities. According to the jury's assessment, this contest attracted many photo series with high artistic quality and won awards, leaving a deep impression on the public. The entries fully reflected all aspects of Dak Lak's economy and society with many unique and engaging stories.

The Organizing Committee awarded First Prize to the photo collection "Dak Lak durian reaches out to the world".

The Organizing Committee awarded 01 First Prize to the photo series "Dak Lak durian reaches out to the world" by author Ton That Tuan Ninh (Lak district, Dak Lak); 02 works winning Second Prize were the photo series "Saigon Beer Factory in Dak Lak" by author Tran Huu Hat (Dak Lak) and the single photo "Funny stories told by mother" by author Tran Thi Mui (Dak Lak); the works winning Third Prize were the photo series "Traditional pottery making of the M'Nong Rlam people in Lak district" by author Tran Thi Mui (Dak Lak), the work "Flood season" by author Le Huy Tinh (Gia Lai) and the photo series "Aspiration to raise the level of "Ede Cafe" by author Le Huu Nghia (An Giang). The Organizing Committee also awarded the most popular work and 10 prizes for creative works on culture, society, tourism, traditional occupations, and the most outstanding and impressive creative works on armed forces.

Speaking at the ceremony, writer Nie Thanh Mai, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial Literature and Arts Association, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, said that the contest is an important cultural and artistic activity for the Party Committee, government, army and people of Dak Lak to look back on the journey of struggle and glorious victory in tandem with the history of the Vietnamese nation; introduce and promote the cultural values, historical relics, scenic spots, and potential strengths of the province. Through the contest and photo exhibition, the image of the land, people, position, and prestige of Dak Lak over 120 years of construction and development, the mark of nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process, has been highlighted; strongly spreading the image of Dak Lak rising up, striving to build a rich, civilized, and unique province. At the same time, the beauty in the spiritual and cultural life of the 49 ethnic groups has been widely introduced to the public through literature and art.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded 10 scholarships to ethnic minority students with good academic achievements.
