On the morning of April 26, at Le Van Huu Temple (Thieu Trung Commune), the People's Committee of Thieu Hoa District opened the Le Van Huu Temple Festival 2024 to commemorate the 702nd anniversary of the death of historian Le Van Huu (March 23, 1322 - March 23, 2024). Attending the festival were comrades: Do Trong Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Lai The Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Trinh Tuan Sinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of provincial departments, agencies, branches, and organizations; the Liaison Committee of the Le Family in Vietnam, along with a large number of people and tourists.

Le Van Huu was born in 1230 in Phu Ly village (now Thieu Trung commune, Thieu Hoa district). As a child, he was famous for being intelligent and a good student. Le Van Huu passed the royal examination in Dinh Mui year (1247) under King Tran Thai Tong and was assigned many important positions in the royal court such as: Inspector, Academician of the Royal Academy and National History Institute Supervisor, and deputy officer to General Tran Quang Khai, equivalent to the position of Minister of Infantry later.

During his time as an official, he was known as a man of profound knowledge and virtue, and was allowed to enter the palace by order of King Tran Thai Tong to teach books to Prince Quang Khai. Throughout historical periods, teacher Le Van Huu has become an image associated with the tradition of studiousness and the effort to advance in the path of education not only of Thanh Hoa people but also of many places in the country.
Not only was he a great teacher, politician, military man, and cultural figure in the 13th and 14th centuries, Le Van Huu was also the one who laid the foundation for the nation's national history. With his intelligence and talent, he composed the "Dai Viet Su Ky" which has been passed down for generations. With his extraordinary talent and virtue, Le Van Huu has inscribed his name in the "golden list" of Vietnamese cultural celebrities, becoming the pride of the land rich in historical and cultural traditions of Thieu Hoa in particular and Thanh Hoa in general.
Promoting the tradition of studiousness and the great contributions of historian Le Van Huu, along with the development of the homeland and the country, generations of cadres and people of Thieu Hoa have been continuing the revolutionary historical and cultural tradition, building the homeland to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
