Opening of Cua Ong Temple Festival in Autumn 2024

On the morning of September 5 (ie August 3 of the lunar calendar), at the special national relic of Cua Ong Temple (Cam Pha City), the opening ceremony of Cua Ong Temple Festival 2024 took place. This is the second annual festival of the year of Cua Ong Temple.

The annual Cua Ong Temple Festival is held on two occasions: February 3-4 and August 3-4 of the lunar calendar to commemorate the merits, life and career of Hung Nhuong Vuong Tran Quoc Tang and many generals of the Tran Dynasty who fought the enemy and defended the border in the Northeast region. The festival on this occasion takes place from August 1 to August 20 of the lunar calendar (also known as the Autumn Festival) with a ceremony to ask for the opening of the temple festival and then ends with a ceremony to say goodbye to the festival.

At the ceremony, after the rituals of the drum beating to open the festival, delegates, people and visitors offered incense to commemorate the merits of Mr. Tran Quoc Tang, followed by a ceremony to worship the gods. The farewell ceremony will take place on the afternoon of September 22 (ie August 20 of the lunar calendar).

To welcome this year's festival season, Cua Ong Temple has made good preparations, renovated its facilities, arranged a parking lot for thousands of cars and motorbikes; installed a security camera system, an automatic ticket collection system; piloted free parking for thousands of vehicles at the Cap Tien Temple parking lot and is expected to deploy it at Cua Ong Temple in the near future.

Currently, Cam Pha City has completed the task of building the Monument Planning and sending it to the relevant agencies for approval by the Government. The project will have many items to serve management and visitors from all over the world such as a tourist wharf, a modern parking lot, a service area...

Cua Ong Temple Festival has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, associated with the special national relic Cua Ong Temple. The festival is held annually as a meaningful spiritual and cultural activity, paying tribute to the merits of our ancestors, attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over the country to attend the festival.
