That is the restaurant of Mr. Le Hoang Khiem's family, located on Le Thi Rieng Street (District 12), not too far from the center of Ho Chi Minh City. Overcoming the sweltering heat outside, I traveled nearly 20 km to this restaurant and was surprised that at 13:00, the restaurant was still crowded with customers.

According to the reporter's observation, the restaurant has a spacious garden-style space, nestled under the shade of green trees. Besides the usual dining area, the focal point of the restaurant is the floor area that is built to hold water. To enter here, customers put their slippers on the shelf, many people have to roll up their pants above the knee to avoid getting wet.

Ignoring the hot and uncomfortable sun outside, as soon as we entered here, we felt the cool air with cool breezes, the sound of customers wading in the water, and the happy laughter. There is also a cool lake in the restaurant, allowing customers to experience canoeing if needed.

Mr. Khiem said the restaurant opened more than 3 weeks ago, during the hottest days of the year in Ho Chi Minh City. The idea of letting customers eat while "strolling" in the cool water at the restaurant comes from the owner's memories of the flood season in the West from Kien Giang.

The restaurant also serves many Western specialties such as grilled chicken with o thum, herring salad, steamed beef intestines with coconut water, and hot pot with xi quach. The owner said that in the first week, not many people knew about it, but then he was both happy and surprised when the restaurant became famous on social networks and customers flocked to it.

“There are times when the restaurant is crowded with customers while there are only about 15 employees. I worry that I will not be able to serve customers the best. If there are any mistakes, I hope customers will understand. To have such a large number of customers after 3 weeks of opening the restaurant is a great joy for me," the owner expressed.

The owner also said that the water pumped into the space for customers to experience is clean water taken from a well. Customers can rest assured about the quality of the water and hygiene. Every day the restaurant changes the water to ensure hygiene.

Guests enjoy the experience

Coming here for the first time with her family of nearly 10 people, Ms. Loan (40 years old) said she learned about the restaurant after reading information on social media. Because her house is nearby, everyone made an appointment to come here on a hot afternoon to eat and "escape the sun".

"My kids love it, playing in the water. They even wear life jackets and go swimming. It's so much fun," she said while looking at her children and their relatives riding a boat in the middle of the lake.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nhat Hao (26 years old) and his friends came to the restaurant for the second time. Working nearby, during their break, everyone invited each other to have lunch, avoiding the sun. Originally from the West, Mr. Hao said the restaurant reminded him of his childhood memories of the flood season.

The owner said the restaurant is open from 10am to 10pm. However, at 4pm, the floor that was built to hold water for customers to wade inside to eat and drink is drained to serve customers as usual in the evening.
