On the afternoon of April 16, Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session with the delegation of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) on the plan to supply LNG to the Thai Binh LNG Thermal Power Plant and supplement gas for industrial customers in the province. Attending the meeting were members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches, localities and a number of enterprises in the province.

At the meeting, PV GAS representatives presented a plan to supply LNG based on the exploitation and utilization of the Corporation's existing pipeline infrastructure. Specifically, for the Thai Binh LNG Thermal Power Plant, LNG will be supplied from the Northern LNG warehouse from 2029, through connection to the existing Thai Binh gas pipeline system.

For industrial customers, before 2029, gas will be taken from the Thai Binh inland gas field and the Thi Vai LNG warehouse; after 2029, LNG will be supplemented from the Northern LNG warehouse. It is expected that after 2030, domestic gas from the Ky Lan field (lots 103 and 107 offshore Thai Binh) will also be put into operation, serving the needs of the Power Plant and industrial customers.

Also at the meeting, leaders of PV GAS, investors of the Thai Binh LNG Thermal Power Plant project and investors in industrial park infrastructure proposed and recommended to the Provincial People's Committee a number of contents related to the LNG gas supply plan for the factory and industrial facilities in the area.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: Using clean, environmentally friendly energy sources to serve socio-economic development tasks is an urgent requirement in the current period.
He highly appreciated the proactiveness and positivity of PV GAS in researching and developing plans to supply LNG to Thai Binh, and at the same time requested the joint venture investor of the Thai Binh LNG Thermal Power Plant project to pay attention to and study the plans proposed by PV GAS, ensuring harmonious interests between the parties.
The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested PV GAS to proactively work with industrial customers and infrastructure investors in industrial parks in the province to develop a comprehensive, long-term and synchronous LNG supply strategy to increase consumption output, reduce fuel costs, and expand the target users of LNG. Thereby, ensuring energy security, improving production and business efficiency of enterprises, and promoting local socio-economic development in a sustainable manner.
Thai Binh province creates all favorable conditions for PV GAS to research and implement investment plans in line with the province's orientation for developing green and clean energy in the coming time.
