Chipsets are commonly used in remote control units (TCUs), which are embedded systems on control boards that perform tracking, diagnostics, and radio communications with a connected vehicle.

As automakers prepare for the future dominance of electric and connected vehicles, they are increasingly equipping new vehicles with a variety of radio systems.

Keysight Technologies is developing a variety of automated test solutions

With these new complex systems, design engineers and manufacturing test engineers are faced with increasingly complex test procedures, as well as more complex, costly, and lengthy test and validation procedures. This is especially true for TCUs, which play a critical role in vehicle control and safety and must interface with dozens of network technologies and communication protocols.

With out-of-the-box support for Autotalks chipsets, Keysight provides TCU manufacturers with a powerful tool that can automate complex verification and calibration testing to reduce time to market.

The solution also supports the ability to automatically control Keysight's Autotalks chipsets and test devices, allowing manufacturers to use the solution as a standard test solution for their production lines.

“This solution is a great example of our deep collaboration with Autotalks and the breadth of our V2X test solutions, from R&D to production,” said Thomas Goetzl, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Automotive and Energy Solutions business. “It simplifies the complex calibration and verification of RF chipsets into a simple, easy-to-use test sequence. With our software-centric approach, we enable our customers to focus on their priorities of improving manufacturing productivity and product quality.”
