Connecting Heritage and Golf in Ninh Binh

The event was hosted by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province and Vietnam Foreign Media Joint Stock Company, in coordination with Culture Newspaper and Vietnam Golf Tourism Association.

The first Heritage Golf Tournament is a practical activity to celebrate and respond to Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23, following the series of activities of the 3rd Ninh Binh Festival with the theme "Heritage Flow" held from November 24-30. At the same time, raising community awareness of heritage conservation and promotion through the Golf Tournament.

Speaking at the press conference held on the morning of November 9, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam External Communications Joint Stock Company, informed that the first Heritage Golf Tournament - Ninh Binh in 2024 was organized to promote heritage to serve the development of tourism, economy and society of the locality with heritage, contribute resources to the conservation and promotion of heritage, create a healthy playground, and raise awareness of contribution to the golfer community and those who love this sport.

Mr. Khanh said that the Golf Tournament includes outstanding activities such as: Seminar "Connecting heritage and golf sport: opportunities and challenges"; Ninh Binh Heritage Tour: Visiting and experiencing relics in Trang An scenic complex, Hoa Lu ancient town...; Heritage Golf Tournament at Ninh Binh Royal Golf Course.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Foreign Media Joint Stock Company hopes that the event will attract a large number of golfers to attend, thereby promoting the unique heritages of Ninh Binh - the land that gathers the quintessence of heaven and earth of Vietnam.

For his part, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province Nguyen Manh Cuong said that Ninh Binh possesses many especially important historical and cultural relics, marking important historical events of the Vietnamese people.

Currently, the province owns 3 titles recognized by UNESCO. They are the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex; Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - Practice of the Vietnamese Mother Goddess Worship and the Red River Delta Biosphere Reserve.

Along with that, this place has a long history and cultural tradition, is a place to preserve tangible and intangible cultural heritages imbued with national cultural identity blended in the majestic and poetic natural landscape of mountains, rivers, lakes...

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, in recent years, Ninh Binh has been honored to be the locality chosen to organize many unique cultural events. With the Heritage Golf Tournament, this is the first time the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province has hosted the event.

The tournament is expected to have the participation of 144 golfers from agencies, units, localities with heritage; organizations, businesses with activities related to culture, heritage, tourism; press and media agencies; and businessmen nationwide.

“This is a meaningful tournament as it is associated with the cultural heritage of Ninh Binh. The Golf Tournament is an opportunity for the locality to promote its cultural heritage, thereby boosting tourism and socio-economic development of the province,” said Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong.
