In recent years, Ninh Thuan province has actively implemented the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program to businesses, cooperatives and local people. With the drastic participation of authorities at all levels and departments, Ninh Thuan now has 182 products certified as OCOP products.

According to the plan, in 2024, Ninh Thuan strives to have 20-30 new products achieving OCOP certification. Of which, there will be 2-5 more 4-star products; 1-2 livestock products meeting OCOP standards from 3-4 stars; consolidating and upgrading at least 50% of OCOP products that have been evaluated and classified; prioritizing the development of OCOP products associated with product brands, developing rural tourism services...

In recent times, in order to increase product value, OCOP product owners have changed their production and business thinking, focusing on improving quality, thereby contributing to raising the value of traditional and local products. Typically, Thai An General Agricultural Service Cooperative, Vinh Hai Commune (Ninh Hai) with fresh grape product NH01-152 was ranked as a 4-star OCOP product. To achieve that result, grape growers of Thai An General Agricultural Service Cooperative have invested in applying high technology in organic and safe production, associated with experiential tourism to attract tourists, promote products, and help increase the value of fresh grape products.

Director of Thai An General Agricultural Service Cooperative, Nguyen Khac Phong, said that NH01-152 grapes are currently popular with many tourists. Especially after NH01-152 grapes were certified as OCOP products. Thanks to proper investment, NH01-152 grapes are increasingly branded, bringing high economic value to growers. Currently, the Cooperative is planning to continue expanding the area of ​​NH01-152 grape variety to about 20 hectares.

In addition to the NH01-152 grape product, the cooperative also has 7 other products that have been certified as 3-star OCOP products such as: dried grapes, dried apples, jelly jam... Mr. Phong shared that the cooperative will invest in processing equipment and machinery to increasingly increase the value of these products. At the same time, it will promote products through many information channels, expand the consumption market to bring stable income to members, and attract more and more tourists to Thai An grape village.

Along with changing the mindset in production and business activities of OCOP entities, to bring OCOP products closer to consumers, Ninh Thuan province promotes product promotion activities through trade fairs and exhibitions; builds display and sales points for products associated with tourism activities; links to bring OCOP products to distribution channels such as supermarkets, convenience store chains, e-commerce trading floors...

The supply-demand connection program always attracts the attention of businesses and OCOP subjects.

According to Mr. Truong Khac Tri, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in 2024, the agricultural sector of Ninh Thuan province will focus on implementing guidelines to maintain quality and upgrade the star rating of OCOP products. At the same time, focus on lending capital for the production and business sectors, create favorable conditions for enterprises, cooperatives, and production households to participate in the OCOP Program; coordinate with localities to support the organization of promotional activities, trade promotion, and connecting supply and demand of OCOP products; build and register OCOP product trademarks. Continue to effectively implement the Intellectual Property Strategy in the area. In particular, prioritize the implementation of projects to manage and develop specific protected products to support the development of local OCOP products.

To achieve the goals set for 2024, the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province has set out 15 main tasks and solutions. In particular, focusing on prioritizing investment in raw material infrastructure, based on the advantages of natural conditions, culture, and production practices of rural people, contributing to sustainable development, adapting to climate change; developing OCOP products associated with building raw material areas for agricultural products and medicinal herbs with specific growing area codes, in the direction of organic production, ecological agriculture, saving resources, conserving nature, biodiversity, ensuring food safety and traceability, maintaining rural landscapes and protecting the environment.

Along with that, standardize processes, standards and develop OCOP products according to the value chain, in accordance with the advantages of production conditions and market requirements. In particular, promote trade promotion activities, connect supply and demand for OCOP products...

Implementing the direction of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee on strengthening the connection between supply and demand of OCOP products, on April 17, 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade of the province and the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Ninh Thuan province co-chaired and coordinated with Central Retail Group in Vietnam to organize the "Supply - Demand Connection Program" between local enterprises and Central Retail Group Vietnam.

Thereby, creating conditions for Central Retail's purchasing team to have the opportunity to directly connect with businesses in Ninh Thuan province, to soon bring local goods, mainly specialties, OCOP products of 3 stars or higher, into distribution and consumption at Central Retail's GO!, Big C, Tops Market supermarket systems nationwide.

At the supply-demand connection program, purchasing staff in the fast-moving consumer goods and fresh food sectors of Central Retail, with the active support of the Department of Industry and Trade and the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Ninh Thuan province, had the opportunity to learn more about the supply capacity of businesses. The two sides discussed packaging designs, product quality, etc. suitable for modern retail channels. From there, it will be easier for businesses in Ninh Thuan province to bring goods into Central Retail's distribution systems.

It can be said that this is an activity to create favorable conditions for OCOP product owners to approach distributors and connect to bring OCOP products of Ninh Thuan province to consumers quickly and effectively.
