TPO - Regarding some information on social networks claiming that Xuan Non dike (Dong Anh district) broke at 2:30 a.m. on September 12, a representative of Dong Anh district People's Committee confirmed that the information was false.
On the morning of September 12, the Ca Lo River overflowed the embankment in Kim Tien village, Xuan Non commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi. The rapid rise in water flooded all of more than 400 households with nearly 2,000 people in Kim Tien village. Previously, the People's Committee of Dong Anh district and Xuan Non commune had announced and mobilized the people of Kim Tien village to move out of the low-lying area to avoid flooding.

"The dike area is flooded due to rising river water. The district has evacuated people to a safe area in advance," said a representative of the district People's Committee.
Information from the People's Committee of Dong Anh district shows that in Dong Anh district, there are 36.05km of dikes (Left Hong dike level I is 15.9km long, Left Duong dike level I is 8.2km long, Right Ca Lo dike level II is 9.0km long; Boi dike not yet classified is 3.75km long) with 12 riverside communes (of which: Along Ca Lo river there are 04 communes; Along Hong river there are 5 communes; Along Duong river there are 3 communes).
Along the Ca Lo River, there are 4 riverside communes (3 communes have dykes, 1 commune does not have dykes); the riverbank area is 191 hectares, with 2,062 people living (mainly concentrated in Kim Tien village with 415 households, 1,899 people are protected by Boi dyke). Along the Red River, there are 5 riverside communes, with a total natural area of 1,899 hectares, of which the agricultural land area is 911 hectares, the residential area is 149 hectares, with 2,969 households, 11,908 people living). Along the Duong River, there are 03 communes, with a total natural area of 290 hectares, of which the agricultural land area is 283 hectares, the residential area is 51.6 hectares, with 1,192 households and 4,771 people living).
Dong Anh district always closely follows the developments and water level situation in the rivers, thereby promptly directing units to concentrate human resources and means to immediately deploy response plans to ensure absolute safety for people's lives and property. Specific initial results: Work to ensure 4 on-site: Proactively review and implement the "4 on-site" assurance (on-site materials, on-site human resources, on-site command, on-site logistics), especially mobilizing people, police, military, youth, and shock forces to support the reinforcement of weak dike and embankment sections; support people to evacuate assets, support the relocation of the elderly and children to safety. So far, there have been no human casualties.
The District People's Committee has supported the relocation and evacuation of people to safe places: 100% of households and individuals subject to relocation have been relocated and ensured absolute safety. Most households and individuals subject to relocation have proactively contacted relatives in the area to relocate to ensure absolute safety; a part of the people have been relocated to gathering points arranged by the District and commune; for a part of the students, they have been arranged to eat, stay and study at some schools in the communes...
