Hue city leaders start construction to remove temporary houses in Phu Loc district |
More resources to remove temporary housing
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Chief of Office of Phong Dien Town People's Committee informed: From 2021 to March 2025, Phong Dien has more than 150 policy households, poor households, and households in difficult circumstances supported to build new houses and repair degraded houses; of which, 66 poor and near-poor households were supported with more than 2.5 billion VND from socialized mobilization sources to build new and repair houses.
According to Mr. Dung, in order to mobilize resources to eliminate temporary houses, Phong Dien has proactively called for more efforts from individuals and organizations who are doing business and living far from home to join hands towards their homeland. Notably, it has connected with the Phong Dien Association in Ho Chi Minh City to organize a charity tennis tournament. Through these activities, each year, it has supported the construction of 10-12 new houses...
Mr. Le Cong Tuong, representative of Phong Dien Association in Ho Chi Minh City, shared that every year, more solid homes are built, helping people stabilize their lives. That is also the motivation for those who are far from home to find ways to have more funds to support their homeland.
In the entire Hue City, in addition to people with revolutionary contributions and people receiving support under the National Target Program, there are 386 households in need of housing support; of which, 80 households need to build new houses and 306 households need to repair their houses. The total support cost for 386 households is nearly 14 billion VND. The city is determined to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area before July 30, 2025.
Rural infrastructure is increasingly spacious |
Mr. Nguyen Tien Nam, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, said that from the city's Fund for the Poor, 4.66 billion VND will be supported; of which, 80 new houses will be supported, each with 20 million VND and 306 households will be supported for repair, each with 10 million VND. In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city is continuing to call for support from organizations, businesses, and individuals to support additional items for people's lives when moving into new houses.
At the working session of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Hue City in early March 2025, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hue City, Mr. Le Truong Luu said that, in addition to allocating budget resources to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, a long-term solution to increase resources is to mobilize socialization from organizations, enterprises, and individuals. Over time, people's houses will be degraded and damaged, and funding will be needed to support repairs. When there are more good socialized sources, support from the community is also a solution to create more jobs, support production, and help poor households stabilize their lives in the long term.
Contribute more human and material resources
During the development of Hue City, the participation and contribution of human and financial resources from the people, organizations and enterprises have gradually changed the face from urban to rural areas. People have donated land to expand village roads and alleys; contributed each labor to make schools and streets more spacious and clean. Many new economic models have been applied, people help each other in economic activities, and improve their lives.
Mr. Tran Quang Dung, Deputy Head of the Urban Management Team of Thuan Hoa District (former Chairman of the People's Committee of An Cuu Ward, Thuan Hoa District) said: A cadre, citizen, organization, or enterprise contributing a small part of its resources and manpower will create a huge resource to carry out common tasks. For example, in 2024, from the funds mobilized from agencies, enterprises, and business establishments, An Cuu Ward put into use 10 free sanitation points to serve tourists; built 2 cultural green points with a total cost of 1.3 billion VND. Through the mobilization of resources, 8,500 gifts were given to poor households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged families with a total cost of more than 1.1 billion VND.
Or in Duong Mong village, Phu My commune, Phu Vang district, to implement the Phu My - Thuan An road project, hundreds of households proactively handed over dozens of hectares of agricultural land and relocated their family and clan tombs. On Provincial Road 10A, more than 50 households on the road voluntarily dismantled constructions encroaching on the roadway and sidewalk. People donated thousands of square meters of land to expand village and hamlet roads in the area and contributed resources to build local public works.
In Phu Xuan district, many urban construction models have been implemented, such as: "Heritage, culture, ecology, landscape, environmentally friendly, civilized, modern"; "Cultural green spot", "Civilized - friendly - safe - rich in identity residential area"... The models have mobilized the active participation of the people, creating a highlight in urban development in the district.
Mr. Hoang Tan Ninh, Vice Chairman of Phu Xuan District People's Committee said: "In the development plan, Phu Xuan determined to build spaces imbued with Hue's cultural identity. To do this, the participation and response of all the people is the decisive factor. The goal is that when tourists come to Phu Xuan District, they will feel the difference, worthy of being the central district of Hue City under the Central Government".
The centrally-governed city will continue its development path. On the journey to the set goals, the joint efforts and support of all people, organizations and enterprises will be a great source of strength to effectively carry out the tasks.
