Landslide safety skills guide

Việt NamViệt Nam14/07/2024

Storms and floods often cause terrible landslides that cause great damage to property and people. Therefore, people need to be more vigilant and prevent damage caused by landslides.

According to UNICEF's landslide safety guide, signs of a landslide include heavy rain for many days; cracks in house walls and hillsides; leaning trees; cloudy river water; swelling of the ground, shaking of the ground, and strange sounds underground.

When there are signs above, people need to monitor information warning of flash floods and landslides, notify the authorities and people around. Local forces need to monitor and evacuate if there is a big risk, protecting lives first.

In addition, people need to always be vigilant and take precautions when there are signs of flash floods, especially when there is prolonged heavy rain; need to stay away from areas at risk of flash floods such as mountain slopes, areas adjacent to rivers and streams...; need to move far away from dangerous areas to higher areas.
