Hung Ha: OCOP products "catch the wave" of the market

The Lunar New Year 2025 is approaching, businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP product production facilities in Hung Ha district are busy producing and supplying products to consumers.

Moc An Nhien Agricultural Cooperative grows 2 hectares of medicinal herbs.

These days, more than 20 workers of Moc An Nhien Agricultural Cooperative, Tan Tien Commune are busy with production and business, the characteristic fragrant smell of herbs wafting throughout the area. Ngoc Diep Tra product of the Cooperative was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product in 2024, affirming its brand, increasing competitiveness and reaching markets. Ngoc Diep Tra is produced in a closed process, without using chemicals or artificial additives. The processing process combines tradition and modern technology. To have a source of clean and safe raw materials, the Cooperative has converted 3 hectares of alluvial land to grow medicinal plants such as black xạ, ginseng, scratch grass, motherwort... Each month, the Cooperative produces over 2,000 boxes of products to supply the market.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue, a member of the cooperative, said: We are very excited that Ngoc Diep Tra has been recognized as a 3-star OCOP product. To meet year-end orders, we have accelerated production and are meticulous in every step to have quality products to serve consumers.

By expanding the area of medicinal plant cultivation and investing in modern machinery for local production, Moc An Nhien Agricultural Cooperative is gradually building a sustainable brand and expanding the market.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang, Director of the Cooperative, said: We currently produce 5 types of herbal tea. We continue to improve product quality, maintain traditional values. At the same time, we expand the scale of production so that herbal products can reach more consumers.

Joining the bustling atmosphere of Tet, production facilities such as: sweet potato cocoons, fried corn Minh Thanh (Hoa Binh commune); green Chung cake Ngoan Tran (Phuc Khanh commune); peanut candy, sausage candy Truong Thuan (Tan Tien commune); lotus products of Hoa Sen Van Dai Cooperative (Chi Hoa commune)... are also rushing to complete orders to serve customers.

After 2 years of implementing Resolution No. 21 dated July 25, 2023 on approving amendments and supplements to a number of contents of Resolution No. 09/NQ-HDND dated May 15, 2023 of the District People's Council approving the support mechanism for building a lighting and electricity system "Lighting up the countryside" and supporting the construction of one product per commune (OCOP) in building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas, the period 2023 - 2025 is to support 100 million VND for each product that meets OCOP standards, up to now the whole district has reviewed and evaluated 37 products, of which 22 products in 12 communes and towns are recognized as OCOP products, including 5 4-star OCOP products and 17 3-star OCOP products; OCOP products have gradually affirmed their brand in the market; Sales increased by 20-30%, of which online sales and e-commerce platforms accounted for 30%.

Mr. Bui Hao Duong, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hung Ha district, said: The district's support mechanism has encouraged farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises to improve processes, promote the application of science and technology in production and processing, improve product quality and design to increase the quantity, quality, variety and value of products, contributing to maintaining and developing traditional products of the homeland to new heights.

By 2025, Hung Ha strives to have over 30 products recognized as 3-star OCOP products, 10 4-star products, and 5 5-star products. To achieve the set goals, according to Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee: In addition to the support mechanism, the district continues to promote the dissemination of the OCOP program; encourage subjects to boldly invest in production and develop local advantageous products; promote the transformation of crop and livestock structures, form key commodity production areas, create sustainable raw material areas for product processing, create conditions for production development according to the value chain; apply science and technology and access new markets through 4.0 technology. For products that have been granted certificates, the district strengthens coordination in management, promotion, trade promotion, and brings products to participate in fairs and exhibitions inside and outside the province.
