Strange but familiar
Milk tea is a familiar drink and is loved by many young people. This drink is creatively mixed with many attractive versions such as grilled milk tea, chocolate milk tea, matcha milk tea... Earlier this year, sticky rice milk tea created a fever on social networks because of its strange yet familiar combination.
Sticky green rice flakes are a familiar dish and a specialty of the Vietnamese countryside, made from young sticky rice. The fragrant sticky green rice flakes are made very meticulously, with many stages so that the finished product has a characteristic aroma, imbued with the quintessence of heaven, earth, sun and wind.
Few people think that sticky rice can be combined with milk tea to create a unique drink. But with creativity, milk tea has been combined with sticky rice to become a sophisticated drink between the traditional features of rice and the modernity of milk tea. Sticky rice not only brings delicious flavor but also reminds of traditional cultural beauty. This attracts both customers who love traditional flavors and dynamic young people. The combination of teas and accompanying side dishes (toppings) creates diversity and appeal.
Attractive flavor
This unique combination of modern drinks and traditional dishes not only brings new flavors that attract young people, but also creates a culinary trend that has widespread influence.
Many coffee and milk tea shops in Hai Duong have quickly caught on to the trend and promptly added this drink to their menu to serve customers.
Ms. Tran Thi Huong, owner of Coffee 34 in Kinh Mon town, said that on average, the shop sells about 100 cups of sticky rice milk tea every day, and on weekends and holidays, the number can be more. According to Ms. Huong, making this drink is not too difficult, the important thing is the step of cooking the rice, and the tea base is similar to the way to make regular milk tea.

The sticky rice sauce includes fresh rice, condensed milk or sugar. Fresh rice is selected from thin, soft, sticky grains with a characteristic aroma. Ms. Huong often chooses Tu Le rice - a famous fragrant sticky specialty of Yen Bai province.
Mix fresh green rice with condensed milk or sugar, then put on the stove to simmer over low heat, stirring constantly. To create more delicious flavor, you can add a little coconut milk, a little pandan juice to create a natural green color. Cook for about 10 - 15 minutes until the green rice is soft and mixed together. The standard green rice must have an eye-catching natural green color, be soft, slightly chewy, have a sweet taste and a fatty aroma from milk.
The tea brewing process is similar to that of regular milk tea. The tea of choice for many people is jasmine oolong tea with the characteristic aroma of jasmine. After brewing the tea, you can add sugar and milk depending on your taste.
Then comes the presentation stage to complete the sticky rice milk tea. Take a moderate amount of sticky rice and put it at the bottom of the cup, then add the milk tea. You can add pearls and fresh cream to create a delicious flavor for the drink.
To increase its appeal, shops are constantly innovating in their preparation and presentation. In addition to young rice, milk tea is also combined with many other toppings such as jelly, pearls, cheese cream, flan... creating a variety of flavors and textures.
Sticky rice milk tea is not only delicious but also creates a new feeling when enjoying, the sweetness of milk tea blends with the softness of rice, a little bit of the rich, creamy layer of soft and chewy pearl cream.
Ms. Pham Thi Huong in Cam Thuong Ward (Hai Duong City) is a "fan" of milk tea. As soon as young rice milk tea started appearing, she immediately tried it. Ms. Huong said: "A plus point of soft rice milk tea is its light, refreshing flavor, not too sweet, so I don't worry too much about losing weight when enjoying this drink."
Summer days are approaching, enjoying a cup of sticky rice milk tea to cool down and provide energy for the body is an interesting experience.
