Overall, in the past 5 years, only in 2022 did the number of Vietnamese candidates taking the SAT decrease slightly compared to 2021. At that time, many universities in the US and some countries removed the SAT test requirement for admission due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, by 2023, many universities in the US will begin to require SAT certificates in applicants' admissions applications.

Also since the COVID-19 pandemic, many Vietnamese universities have adopted an admission method using SAT exam results.

Typically, in the 2024 admissions season, more than 20 universities in Hanoi have an admissions method using SAT exam results.

Among these are many famous names such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Foreign Trade University, University of Commerce, Academy of Journalism and Communication, University of Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University), University of Pharmacy...

In Ho Chi Minh City, in the 2024 enrollment season, many major universities also have an enrollment method using SAT exam results, such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University)...

The average SAT score is 1,024/1,600

The SAT consists of two main sections. The Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (ERW) section tests your ability to read and analyze texts, as well as your ability to write and edit grammar and vocabulary.

The Math section tests knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, including both calculator-allowed and calculator-disallowed tests.

The maximum score on the SAT is 1,600. The average SAT score of high school graduates in 2024 is 1,024/1,600.
