At the historical and cultural relic of Van Phuoc Communal House, My Le Commune, Can Duoc District, on the afternoon of February 13, 2025, on the 16th day of the first lunar month, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Long An Province coordinated with the People's Committee of Can Duoc District to organize the opening ceremony of the 29th Long An Province Southern Amateur Music Exchange Program in 2025. Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - Hoang Dinh Can, Director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Nguyen Thanh Thanh, former provincial leaders, and local leaders attended.
The 29th Southern Amateur Music Exchange Program in Long An Province in 2025 has the participation of 07 Amateur Music Bands from provinces and cities, with over 100 amateur musicians and singers. The program takes place on February 13 and 14, 2025. Of which, the Amateur Music Bands of Long An, Ben Tre, Binh Duong provinces and the Cultural Center of District 8, Ho Chi Minh City will perform on February 13. The Amateur Music Bands of Ca Mau, Bac Lieu and An Giang provinces will perform on February 14.
The new feature of this year's program is that the Don Ca Tai Tu exchange is held in the afternoon instead of in the evening as in previous years. The Long An Province Southern Don Ca Tai Tu Exchange is an annual activity, and is also an opportunity for artists and musicians to exchange and offer incense in memory of the death anniversary of Artist - Musician Nguyen Quang Dai, who laid the foundation for the art of Don Ca Tai Tu in the South. Every year, on the 18th day of the first lunar month, at Van Phuoc communal house, My Le commune, Can Duoc district, the death anniversary of Artist - Musician Nguyen Quang Dai is held to commemorate his great contributions.
At the program, the Vietnam Folk Arts Association posthumously awarded the title of Folk Artist and the Commemorative Medal “For the Cause of Folk Arts” to the late pioneer artisan Dinh Van Thoan, also known as Sau Thoan, from Can Duoc district. At the same time, the title of Folk Artist and the Commemorative Medal “For the Cause of Folk Arts” were awarded to artisan Tran Quoc Thinh, from Can Duoc district, and artisan Nguyen Thi Nguyet, from Tan An city.
