In her welcoming speech at the Workshop, Comrade Lam Thi Huong Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Council affirmed: Contributing to the overall achievements in improving the investment and business environment and promoting economic growth, there is the active participation of press and media agencies, especially Party newspapers. Many topics and articles in the Party newspaper have analyzed in depth, highlighted the potentials and strengths, reflecting the "transformation" of many localities on the path to attracting investment for economic development.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, highly appreciated the dynamism, creativity, and meticulous investment of journalists in promoting investment attraction and economic growth. At the same time, he congratulated the localities with outstanding socio-economic development in recent years. Among many effective ways to attract investors of localities, Party press agencies have promoted their role and professional mission, effectively performing political tasks in promoting the policies of the Party, State and localities.
To further improve the results of propaganda to improve the investment and business environment and promote economic growth, the Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association hopes that the Party Committee, the government and agencies and units will continue to pay attention to leading, directing and creating favorable conditions for press activities; strictly implement the Party and State's regulations on speech discipline and promptly provide information for the press to exchange and convey the government's messages to domestic and foreign investors; Party press agencies need to promote digital transformation, political and professional training for journalists, focusing on training, innovation and application of technology in journalism...
Speaking at the workshop, Editor-in-Chief of Bac Giang Newspaper Trinh Van Anh emphasized: Reality in recent years shows that the Government and localities have made efforts to synchronously implement many practical solutions to improve the investment and business environment, promote innovation, enhance competitiveness, and move towards sustainable development.
Achievements in improving the business investment environment and promoting innovation have contributed to enhancing the competitiveness of the economy as well as the position and prestige of our country in the international arena. Notably: Contributing to making our country an attractive investment destination; a dynamic economy with high openness and maintaining a growth rate among the highest in the world. Our country's position on prestigious global rankings has clearly improved. Market efficiency has improved dramatically, from the bottom of the rankings (178th in 2014) to 59th (in 2024); E-government from 99th (in 2014) to 86th (in 2022); Innovation capacity increased from 71st (in 2014) to 46th (in 2023) ...
According to the assessment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the first half of 2024, despite certain difficulties, under the direction of the Central Government and the efforts of localities, the socio-economic situation of 25 provinces and cities in the Northern region has many positive changes, maintaining a fairly good growth momentum, making an important contribution to the overall growth of the whole country. Most provinces and cities have a positive growth index of industrial production (IIP) compared to the same period last year; 11 localities have a growth rate of 10% or more. Some industrial centers in the Northern region have restored growth momentum such as: Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Phong. The total export turnover of the region is estimated at about 120 billion USD, an increase of 18% over the same period. Some localities achieved a high total export turnover such as: Thai Nguyen 17.8 billion USD, accounting for 14.7%, an increase of 34%; Bac Giang 16.5 billion USD, accounting for 13.7%, up 22%; Hai Phong 16 billion USD, accounting for 13.3%, up 21%...
Contributing to the above remarkable achievements, it is necessary to mention the significant role of press agencies in general, and local Party newspapers in particular. Party newspapers have been proactive in propagating and bringing the Party's policies, the State's policies, and those of local Party committees and authorities on improving the investment and business environment into life. They have analyzed and reflected the shortcomings, limitations, and "bottlenecks" that hinder general development, including the task of improving the investment and business environment such as regional connectivity, investment in infrastructure development, especially transport infrastructure, improving the investment and business environment, improving provincial competitiveness, administrative reform, improving labor quality, etc.
At the same time, encourage all levels, sectors, business communities and investors to promote production and business development and promote economic growth.
At the Workshop, there were 30 presentations by delegates on the topic "Party newspapers promote improvement of the investment and business environment, promoting economic growth". Most of the presentations expressed their agreement and high consensus with the theme of the Workshop and affirmed that this is a good, practical topic, close to the propaganda work of the press. In addition to evaluating the advantages and new approaches, the presentations proposed solutions to continue to innovate, improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda to improve the investment and business environment, and promote economic growth.
Speaking at the workshop with the theme "Ninh Binh Newspaper with the propaganda of exploiting potentials and advantages in tourism development", comrade Bui Ngoc Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Ninh Binh Newspaper, stated that in recent times, Ninh Binh Newspaper has become an effective propaganda channel to introduce and promote the image of people, the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, the potentials and strengths in all economic and social fields of the province to domestic and foreign investors.
To affirm the position of the local Party Newspaper in propaganda work, over the years, Ninh Binh Newspaper has always closely followed the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Ninh Binh Province, performing well the propaganda task in all fields, including tourism. Ninh Binh Newspaper always focuses on investing in building high-quality specialized pages and columns to promote the fields of tourism, heritage, and culture. Among them, the English version of the electronic newspaper regularly publishes news and articles about the heritage values and scenic spots of the province, contributing to promoting the image and tourist destinations.
