Mobilizing over 355 million VND to support people in the North affected by natural disasters

Dak Lak Province Women Entrepreneurs Association mobilized members to contribute more than 355 million VND to buy necessities and essential tools for people in northern provinces and cities affected by natural disasters.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh - President of Dak Lak Province Women Entrepreneurs Association said: Immediately after storm No. 3 made landfall, causing heavy damage to people in the northern provinces and cities, the Association mobilized resources from its members to support people. The Association connected with the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association and Women Entrepreneurs Associations of provinces and cities affected by the storm and flood to understand people's needs, thereby purchasing the right types of items that people and localities need.

Specifically, the Dak Lak Women Entrepreneurs Association transferred 30 million VND to the Hung Yen Women Entrepreneurs Association to buy 26,000 bags to build the dike; transferred 20 million VND to the Yen Bai Women Entrepreneurs Association to buy household items for the people; donated 20 million VND in cash to Thong Lang Nu (Lao Cai); transferred 20 million VND to the Phu Tho Women Entrepreneurs Association to buy rice to give to families affected by the storm...

“In particular, on September 12, the Dak Lak Women Entrepreneurs Association donated a shipment of boots, shoes, and protective gear worth VND237 million to people in the northern provinces and cities affected by natural disasters. All of these goods were transported free of charge by Vietnam Airlines to Noi Bai airport for the provinces and cities to receive and transport on the same day to people and forces to overcome the consequences of storms and floods,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh informed.

Up to now, the total amount of money mobilized and supported by the Association to help people in the Northern provinces and cities overcome storms and floods of Dak Lak Province's Women Entrepreneurs Association is 355 million VND.

“The work of overcoming the consequences, stabilizing people’s lives, and increasing production after storms and floods is still extremely difficult and long-term. In order to help the right people, in the right needs, through the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of provinces and cities affected by natural disasters, we will grasp the actual needs of the people to have a plan to mobilize resources to support people, contributing to helping them stabilize their lives, continue production and business, and revive the family economy,” said Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Chairwoman of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Dak Lak province.
