Ms. Le Thanh Huong, Principal of Tran Hung Dao Primary School, said: "The Driver Safety AI project is an innovative product that applies artificial intelligence (AI) to detect driver drowsiness through a facial recognition camera system and analyzes signs such as closing eyes, yawning, nodding, etc. When detecting a risk of loss of concentration, the system will issue a warning with LED lights, sounds or interactive questions to help drivers stay more alert, contributing to ensuring traffic safety. With high practical applicability and the ability to expand development, the project received high appreciation from the professional council."
Notably, according to Ms. Thanh Huong, these 5th grade students confidently presented their projects entirely in English in front of the judges and other competing teams.
Ms. Thanh Huong said that the group of students participating in the contest all have a special passion for technology, love to learn about AI, programming and computer science, and love learning English. At Tran Hung Dao Primary School, the school has a STEM club, modern STEM classrooms, where students can study and participate in many dynamic activities and programs. Classroom lessons and creative experiential activities help students to awaken their passion, creating a foundation for them to form ideas and implement projects.
