(Dan Tri) - Ms. Kiki Håkansson (Sweden) was the first beauty to be crowned Miss World. She passed away on November 4 at her home in California (USA), at the age of 95.
In a statement to the Miss World organization, her children said Kiki Håkansson passed away peacefully in her sleep at home. Her son, Chris Andersen, described her as a down-to-earth, kind, loving and fun-loving person with a great sense of humor and a big heart.

The Miss World website also reported the news and had sweet words for her. "Kiki passed away in her sleep, and according to her children, she passed away peacefully, comfortably and well taken care of," the Miss World website wrote.
Miss World President Julia Morley shared the sad news on the pageant's fanpage: "We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family, love and prayers to Kiki's loved ones at this time.
Kiki was a pioneer and deserves her place in history as the first Miss World. The memories of the first Miss World will be honored and Kiki Håkansson will forever be in our hearts."

Kiki Håkansson (born 1929) grew up in Sweden. She won the Miss World Sweden contest in 1951 and then won the Miss World 1951 crown.
She was also the first Miss World to wear a two-piece swimsuit when she was crowned, which was condemned by some countries with religious traditions.
From 1952, the pageant changed from swimsuits to more modest swimwear. Later, swimsuits were brought back to the contest, but Kiki Håkansson remains the only person in history to wear the Miss World crown in a two-piece swimsuit.
According to the Miss World organization, Ms. Kiki Haakonson is one of the longest-serving Miss Worlds. She had a term of 475 days (about 16 months).
The Miss World pageant has gone through 71 seasons and the 72nd season is expected to be held in 2025. Currently, the Miss World organization has not chosen the exact location and time for the contest.
The current holder of the Miss World title is Krystyna Pyszková (Czech Republic).
