Support the development of sustainable OCOP products

Thanh Hoa always focuses on implementing many solutions to support production entities from propaganda, promotion, training, improving product quality to expanding raw material areas... so that OCOP products can develop sustainably. With timely and active support from all levels, sectors and localities, there have been many quality OCOP products, competitive in the market and favored and highly appreciated by consumers.

Support the development of sustainable OCOP products With support from all levels, sectors and localities, Cu Nham Fish Sauce Company Limited (Quang Xuong) has the conditions to expand its factory for large-scale production.

Quang Xuong is one of the pioneering localities in building and developing OCOP products, with the province's "first" OCOP products, such as: Moc Viet foot bath, cold steaming leaves of Quang Anh oriental medicine facility, Quang Khe commune... Up to now, the district has 26 OCOP products; of which, there are 5 4-star products and 21 3-star products. To achieve initial achievements in building OCOP products, Quang Xuong has constantly strived to promote local strengths. At the same time, actively supporting subjects participating in the program, such as: supporting 50 million VND for 3-star OCOP products and 100 million VND for 4-star OCOP products.

Mr. Le Dai Hiep, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Xuong district, said: "In implementing the OCOP Program, Quang Xuong focuses on prioritizing support capital to encourage organizations and individuals. Along with that, the district coordinates with related units to organize training and propaganda classes; support the introduction and promotion of OCOP products. At the same time, focus on supporting trade connections to gradually build product value chains, improve quality, expand scale and enhance the competitiveness of OCOP products. Accordingly, the products are all oriented towards in-depth development, applying science and technology, transferring new technologies in production and processing to create quality products with beautiful designs.

In Quang Nham commune, Mr. Thach Van Hieu developed 3 OCOP products: special fish sauce, dried mussels and shrimp paste under the Cu Nham brand. After more than 3 years of participating in the program, the Cu Nham brand has made remarkable progress. Mr. Thach Van Hieu, Director of Cu Nham Fish Sauce Company Limited, said: "When participating in the development of OCOP products, the district guided us on the documents, procedures, and production processes to complete the products. At the same time, creating an open mechanism to accumulate and concentrate land to build large-scale factories, suitable for development needs. With 3 developed OCOP products, in addition to the support mechanism of the province, district, and commune, hundreds of millions of VND were also supported to continue investing in production and improving product quality. Thanks to that, Cu Nham Fish Sauce Company Limited has 2 factories of thousands of square meters, expanding the market to 40 provinces and cities across the country with about 400 sales agents. Each month, the company sells about 2,000 liters of fish sauce of all kinds, with an average revenue of about 800 million VND/month, creating stable jobs for dozens of local workers.

According to statistics from the Provincial New Rural Development Program Coordination Office, by June 2024, the whole province had 485 OCOP products. However, most of the province's OCOP products were developed on a small scale. Therefore, based on the province's orientation and support and the proactive investment of economic sectors, departments and branches have actively organized booths to display OCOP products; created conditions and supported subjects to participate in booths at fairs, booths on the trading floors posmart.vn and voso.vn... Departments, branches, units and localities in the province have organized training conferences, professional training, supported the construction of databases to update on the product traceability information portal, organized and created conditions for subjects to participate in many fairs, trade and product promotion... Thanks to that, many OCOP products of the province have met the needs and demands of the market and gradually affirmed their position in the market.

Currently, Thanh Hoa province has been focusing on strengthening propaganda and mobilization; supporting subjects in terms of resources and policy mechanisms to invest in expanding production, scale, and improving product quality. Guiding and supporting OCOP subjects in establishing industrial property rights, applying advanced technology and processes to improve productivity and product quality. At the same time, focusing on supporting subjects in trade promotion, market development, OCOP product distribution channels... contributing to the sustainable development of OCOP products.
