Coach Mai Duc Chung regretted that the Vietnamese team could have scored more goals against the German team, not just the one goal by Thanh Nha.

Against the world's number 2 team Germany, the Vietnamese team played very confidently and only lost 1-2. The goal scorer for the red team was "sideline tornado" Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha.
After the match, coach Mai Duc Chung shared his feelings: "Matches like this give the Vietnamese women's team more experience. Before that, we rarely had the chance to compete with high-level opponents like the German team.
Against a high-class opponent, the Vietnamese women's team played with great effort, despite being inferior in stature and strength to the opponent. The players played with determination and implemented the tactics given by the coaching staff.
Of course, in football, just a little bit of carelessness can lead to a goal. The team conceded an early goal but we tried to fix it quickly. In particular, the Vietnamese women's team had several opportunities to score against the German team, not just Thanh Nha's late goal."
"We will continue to improve our level to aim for the World Cup. Up to now, I am quite satisfied with the preparation of the Vietnamese women's team. Only a few individual mistakes have been exposed such as poor passing and ball control.
The defensive counter-attacking style that the Vietnamese team is aiming for is correct. In terms of level and strength, the Vietnamese women's team is much weaker than the other team. So we have to play tight defense, waiting for counter-attacks. Against the German women's team, the team had a few sharp counter-attacks. Unfortunately, Nguyen Thi Hoa and Duong Thi Van missed them quite regrettably.
The confidence of the Vietnamese female players is increasing. Their physical strength and bravery have been improved. I still tell my students that we must learn from the good things of the opponent," said coach Mai Duc Chung.
Before leaving Germany, coach Mai Duc Chung announced some information about the injury situation of the pillars: "Currently, in terms of strength, the team is missing Huynh Nhu and Chuong Thi Kieu is injured. I hope Chuong Thi Kieu recovers quickly to compete with the team at the 2023 World Cup. As for Huynh Nhu, when she returns to Vietnam, Nhu will be able to practice and compete."
According to the plan, tomorrow (June 26), the Vietnamese women's team will return to Hanoi. The team will practice at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center before leaving for New Zealand on July 5 and have two quality friendly matches against the New Zealand and Spain women's teams.
At the 2023 Women's World Cup, the Vietnamese team will face strong opponents such as defending champion the United States, defending runner-up the Netherlands and Portugal.
