At 1:00 a.m. on March 26 (Vietnam time), U.17 Vietnam had a valuable friendly match with host U.17 Oman. Coach Cristiano Roland and his team had the opportunity to compete with one of the strongest youth teams in West Asia, in preparation for the 2025 AFC U-17 Championship finals.
As a result, U.17 Vietnam defeated their opponent with a score of 1-0, thanks to the only goal by Bui Duy Dang in the 82nd minute. Mr. Roland's students created a scientific and tight game, before overcoming their opponent thanks to the decisive "sword strike" in the final minutes.
Victory against a strong team like U.17 Oman will boost the spirit of U.17 Vietnam before going to the big Asian sea.

Previously, U.17 Vietnam had 4 days of training in Muscat (Oman) to start the training trip in West Asia. Weather conditions in Muscat range from 21 to 31 degrees Celsius, favorable for training. The field here also meets standards, providing the players with the best conditions for training.
Due to the similar conditions in Oman and Saudi Arabia (where the 2025 AFC U17 Championship finals will be held), Vietnam U17 will have the opportunity to get used to the West Asian atmosphere to easily adapt to the finals.
Coach Roland emphasized the importance of the friendly match with Oman in the preparation for the 2025 AFC U-17 Championship. This is a good opportunity for young players to gain international competition experience, practice adapting to different weather and playing styles.
"We want to make the most of this opportunity to test our tactical capabilities, evaluate the players' progress and correct any shortcomings before entering the 2025 AFC U17 Championship finals," said coach Roland.
On March 27, U.17 Vietnam will face U.17 Oman again. At the 2025 U.17 Asian Cup finals, coach Roland and his team will face U.17 Japan, U.17 Australia and U.17 UAE.
