Jason Pendant was born in 1997 in France, coming from a French football training camp, with extensive experience playing in Ligue 2 and Major League Soccer (MLS). In August 2024, the player with a French father and a Vietnamese mother joined the Hanoi Police Club, playing in the V-League.
Previously, Pendant played for the French U16 and U18 teams. Since 2019, Pendant has repeatedly expressed his desire to play for the Vietnamese national team. The left-back has played 16 matches for the Public Security team and has just been granted a decision to successfully acquire Vietnamese citizenship.
On March 28, the representative of the Hanoi Department of Justice - Mr. La Hoang Hung - read the decision of the President to grant Vietnamese citizenship to Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, congratulated him and hoped that the overseas Vietnamese player will contribute a lot to Vietnamese football.
For his part, Quang Vinh expressed: "Today is a special day in my life. My heart is filled with happiness and pride. I was born in France, but the Vietnamese blood in me always urges me to contribute to the country's football."
Besides, this winger also affirmed that he will use all his talent and enthusiasm to contribute to the national flag, so that every goal and every pass will show the pride of the Vietnamese people.
VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu shared: "The road ahead is wide open with Quang Vinh's talent. Congratulations to Hanoi Police Club for having another Vietnamese player in the squad. In the coming time, the Vietnam Football Federation will continue to monitor Quang Vinh's performance and development and expect this player to make many contributions to national football."
Representative of Hanoi Police Club, Major Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his joy when Cao Pendant Quang Vinh officially joined the team as a Vietnamese player.
Quang Vinh and his teammates will visit PSM Makassar Club (Indonesia) in the first leg of the semi-final of the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Club Championship, taking place on April 2.
