The life of Mr. Nguyen Hung and Ms. Vo Thi Mai, in La Ha town (Tu Nghia), has moved many people, because of what they have experienced. The two had a very romantic love, but also many ups and downs. It can be said that the love they have for each other is difficult to express in words.

Since childhood, Mai has always been self-conscious about her extremely small body. Even though she has reached adulthood, her body is still like that of a child. Seeing her body was abnormal, Mai went to see a doctor and was diagnosed with a sex chromosome disorder and was unable to reproduce. Sad about her fate, Mai never thought of getting married to anyone. But that thought changed since she met Mr. Hung, her current husband.

Ms. Mai said, knowing that she was not lucky enough to be a mother, I always had an inferiority complex. Although my husband proposed to me many times, I always refused outright and told him about my illness. However, he did not give up. He always proved his sincere love for more than 6 years we knew each other. I was deeply moved by his feelings for me, so I decided to hold hands and go through life together. Up to now, although we have been married for 5 years, that love has not changed but has grown day by day.

Mr. Hung's sincere love helped Ms. Mai overcome the obstacles in their marriage. Mr. Hung always protected his wife from the slander of many people about her inability to have children. More than love, Mr. Hung and Ms. Mai's marriage was also based on understanding and tolerance.

Looking at his wife with affection, Mr. Hung shared, "Actually, I know that my wife always blames herself for not being able to give birth to my child. Therefore, I always try to spend more time caring for and showing my love for my wife and vow to live together forever."

Mr. Pham Van Duc and Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam, in Nguyen Nghiem Ward (Duc Pho Town), also experienced countless difficulties when deciding to get married, because both husband and wife are visually impaired. It was the understanding and sympathy for fate that brought Mr. Duc and Ms. Lam to become each other's other half, even though both of them knew that married life would not be without difficulties. Ms. Lam shared, in the past, her family always advised her that if she got married, she should find someone who was able-bodied and healthy. Therefore, when we first met, my husband and I also faced dissuasion from everyone. This is understandable because we are both disabled. In order not to make our relatives worry, my husband and I always try to build our marital happiness.

Mr. Duc and Ms. Lam have just opened a massage and acupressure shop. The shop is new and doesn't have many customers, so the income is just enough to cover the cost of rent, living expenses and raising children. The biggest worry of the couple is that their son, who is not yet one year old, also has a genetic eye disease like his parents. However, the doctor informed them that there is still hope of saving his eyes if treated promptly. Difficulties and worries about food, clothing, and medical expenses for their child are always present in the life of this young couple. However, they always encourage each other to work hard. Because they know that understanding and sharing between husband and wife is the most important motivation for them to overcome difficulties and obstacles in life.

For more than 55 years of marriage, Mr. Le So (80 years old) and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Sinh (75 years old), in Tan Phong village, Pho Phong commune (Duc Pho town), have always faced countless difficulties. When they were young, Mr. So and his wife worked in the fields all year round to raise their four children. It seemed that when they were old enough to rest, the couple had to take care of their two grandchildren. Because their daughter-in-law died while giving birth. Not long after that, Mr. So and his wife's son also disappeared, not caring about his children. Although both grandchildren had many illnesses, the eldest grandchild was born blind in both eyes, and the youngest suffered from anemia. Feeling sorry for their grandchildren's unfortunate fate, Mr. So and his wife became fathers and mothers to make up for their feelings for their grandchildren.

Despite their old age, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Sinh and her husband, in Tan Phong village, Pho Phong commune (Duc Pho town), still wholeheartedly take care of their sick grandson.

For more than 7 years, Mr. So has suffered a stroke, so all the housework has fallen on his frail old wife. Every day, Mrs. Sinh tries to go to the fields to cut grass to raise cows, hoping to earn more money to buy medicine to treat her husband and 2 grandchildren. Life is so difficult, but Mrs. Sinh always has a smile on her lips, to be a support for her husband and grandchildren. “Over the past 20 years, despite facing many hardships, having to save up to raise sick grandchildren, my husband and I have never complained for fear of making them sad. On the contrary, we always encourage each other to try our best. Many times at night, my husband and I often cry, ashamed and embarrassed, but we quickly put it aside. Now my husband and I are both frail and old, we just hope that every morning when we wake up, we can still see and be next to our life partner,” Mrs. Sinh emotionally confided.

Many people have endless praise when mentioning the affection of Mr. Dinh Van Nguyen (45 years old), in Ha Thanh village, Son Thanh commune (Son Ha), for his wife. After giving birth, Mr. Nguyen's wife's health became increasingly weaker, due to a heart disorder. Loving his wife, Mr. Nguyen shouldered all the worries by himself, worked hard to earn money, saved money to pay for his wife's medical expenses and raise two young children. Although he was busy working, every time his wife went to the hospital for treatment, Mr. Nguyen was always the one to accompany and take care of her.

“I always encourage my wife, no one can avoid illness or disease. And no difficulty can push us apart,” Mr. Nguyen confided.
