Like many other localities, in recent years, the Party Committee and the people of all ethnic groups in Muong La district have made every effort, overcome all difficulties and achieved many proud achievements. The photo collection was taken by the author in Nam Nghiep commune in the middle of March. The place is considered the "capital" of hundreds of years old hawthorn trees, to admire the hawthorn flowers blooming white on the hills with a charming beauty, captivating people's hearts. The photo collection was sent by the author to participate in the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam", organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications. Nam Nghiep village has 135 households with 754 people, 100% of whom are Mong ethnic people. According to the elders in the village, it is not known when the hawthorn tree was planted, but it has been attached to many generations. The whole village currently has nearly 800 hectares of ancient hawthorn trees, several hundred years old. Realizing the potential for tourism development, the local government has mobilized the villagers to protect the remaining hawthorn trees; guided the villagers to develop tourism services to increase income, many households in the village have also proactively invested in homestays, ethnic costumes for tourists to take photos with hawthorn flowers. In 2024, the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam" continues to be organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists on the website https://happy.vietnam.vn for all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners aged 15 and over. The contest aims to honor individuals and groups with positive information products, making practical contributions to the propaganda and promotion of a beautiful image of Vietnam to the world. Thereby helping people in the country, compatriots abroad and international friends access authentic images of the country, Vietnamese people, Vietnam's achievements in ensuring human rights, towards a happy Vietnam.
