Not only a pristine natural landscape, Tiger Mountain Cave is also an important historical relic, reflecting the resilient spirit and creativity of the people of Uong Bi during the difficult times of the country.
Tiger Mountain Cave is located in Phuong Nam Ward (Uong Bi City), a famous place with charming river scenery and green mountains. Not only wild and majestic, this is also an ideal destination for those who love to explore nature and learn about history.
According to local historical records, during the resistance war against the French, the Southern region, where Tiger Mountain Cave is located, witnessed many important historical events. Each river, mountain and cave here is associated with the miracles and feats of our ancestors.
According to the history of the local Party Committee, during the resistance war against the US, especially in the years 1967-1969 and late 1972, when US aircraft fiercely bombed the North, Tiger Mountain Cave was chosen as an evacuation site, ensuring the safety of Uong Bi Town Hospital. This was a strategic decision of the Uong Bi Town Party Committee to protect the medical staff and patients from the destructive bombings of the US Air Force. Local people joined hands to build evacuation structures, helping to maintain the operation of the hospital in harsh war conditions.
Not only is it a place to ensure the safety of medical staff, Tiger Mountain Cave also contributes to protecting the lives of many people, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, creativity and resilience of the people of Quang Ninh Mining Region during difficult times. This is a relic with profound educational value, helping today's young generation better understand the great sacrifices of their ancestors.
The timely evacuation of Uong Bi Town Hospital not only ensured the safety of the medical staff, as well as the assets and equipment of the hospital, but also contributed to maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of the Uong Bi town health system during the fierce war; minimizing human losses caused by the US's destructive war, contributing to the Quang Ninh army and people in defeating the US imperialists' destructive war in the Quang Ninh Mining Area. With these values, in May 2024, this relic was recognized as a provincial relic.
Tiger Mountain Cave not only has historical value but also has great attraction in terms of landscape. Located in the middle of green mountains and blue water, next to the winding Hang Ma River, this place possesses wild and majestic beauty with uniquely shaped rocky mountains such as De Mountain, Xep Bang Mountain, another provincial relic. The cave system inside the mountain, combined with the solid natural structure, creates an attractive space for tourists who love to explore nature.
According to the leader of Phuong Nam ward, although there are currently no official cultural and religious activities at Ho Mountain Cave, with its long history, this relic has the potential to become a "red address" to organize activities about the source and educate patriotic traditions. Combining Ho Mountain Cave with other historical relics in the area such as Hang Ma Mountain, Da Bac River, and Phuong Nam ancient tombs can create a unique cultural and historical tourism route. In addition, near Ho Mountain Cave is the Hang Son temple and pagoda relic cluster, which can be combined to promote its potential.
With its landscape advantages and historical value, if properly invested, Tiger Mountain Cave can completely become a tourist destination combining historical and ecological education, contributing to promoting local tourism development.
