Vietnamese-American painter, sculptor and producer Sir Daniel K. Winn - the inspiration for the film and the main actor - said he was moved while filming the film depicting his life.

"I remember the hard days when I was young, with no money. Now that I'm successful, I still want to go back to those days, living with my grandmother. The audience watching the movie may feel sad, feel sorry for the child and the grandmother. But that was when I was happy to live with my relatives," said Daniel K. Winn.

The Cocoon explores the loss and rebirth of humans in modern society. After being abandoned by his biological mother, Daniel lives with his grandmother. Despite life's challenges, Daniel finds joy in painting. His life changes when his grandmother sends him to an orphanage. Daniel regains faith after finding his father who he thought was lost.

The film is directed by foreign director Jordan Schulz. The producer hopes that the film marks an important step in the journey of bringing Vietnamese cinema to the world.
