Vietnamese airlines added 586 flights during the period from January 17 to February 12.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, after being compared to last week (January 10), Vietnamese airlines have added 586 flights with the number of seats provided increasing by about 134,800 seats in the period from January 17 to February 12.
At Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the Hanoi-HCMC route increased by 90 flights (with a capacity of 25,696 seats). In the opposite direction, the route from HCMC to Hanoi increased by 89 flights (with a capacity of 21,864 seats).

Not only on the North-South route, flights from Ho Chi Minh City to other provinces have also increased.
Of which, the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang route increased by 24 trips (capacity of 4,830 seats), the Ho Chi Minh City - Thanh Hoa route increased by 22 trips, the Ho Chi Minh City - Hue route increased by 23 trips (capacity of 5,250 seats), the Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh route increased by 24 trips (capacity of 4,540 seats) and the Hai Phong - Ho Chi Minh City route increased by 43 trips (capacity of 9,030 seats) compared to the previous week.
Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said that despite the addition of many flights, many routes from Ho Chi Minh City to other localities were quickly filled up during the days close to Tet and in the opposite direction during the period after Tet.
Many flights are fully booked, such as Hanoi - Buon Ma Thuot and flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Hue, Pleiku, Tuy Hoa, Quy Nhon, Buon Ma Thuot, Quang Binh, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Chu Lai, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Hue...
On the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang routes, some days before Tet, there were high booking rates, over 90%.
Passenger traffic through airports is also expected to increase sharply during Tet 2025. Specifically, from December 23 to 29, Tan Son Nhat airport is expected to operate about 820 - 900 flights per day.
The peak was on December 24 with 901 trips, the lowest was on December 29 with 823 trips.
The number of passengers passing through the busiest airport in the country on peak days (December 26 and 27) reached nearly 150,000 passengers (an increase of 12.7% compared to the peak days before Tet 2024).
Compared to the Lunar New Year in 2024, this year, Tan Son Nhat operated about 6,100 more flights (8.7%) and nearly 900,000 more passengers (4%).
To better meet people's travel needs during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said it is working with airlines to research and add more flights to routes with high booking rates, especially routes with booking rates of over 90%.
At the same time, continue to deploy night flights, based on the capacity of airlines, airport infrastructure conditions and ensure absolute safety and security during operations.
