As Thanh Nien reported, at around 10:30 a.m. on May 21, while in the process of renovating the Chi Thanh railway tunnel (in Tuy An district, Phu Yen), a landslide suddenly occurred. The volume of the landslide was up to 260 cubic meters, the area of the sinkhole was much larger than the Bai Gio tunnel (Khanh Hoa), so the amount of work was much larger. The cause was determined to be due to the weak geology of this area, heavy rain causing water to seep into the soil and rocks, causing the landslide.
