In the 2024 high school graduation exam, there were 2 candidates nationwide who got 10 points in literature. Both were female, one from Nam Dinh, one from Dong Thap.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online at noon on July 17, Pham Quynh Anh (12A1 student at My Tho High School, Y Yen District, Nam Dinh Province) said she was surprised, happy and moved to be one of two candidates nationwide to score 10 points in literature in the 2024 high school graduation exam.

"At 8am this morning, when I was checking my exam scores, my friends texted me that I got 10 points in literature. I was nervous when I heard that, but when I checked my scores, I saw that my literature score was not high. I checked again and found out that I had checked the wrong registration number. After checking the correct registration number, I saw that I got 10 points in literature. I was so surprised and happy," Quynh Anh said.

According to Quynh Anh, before the graduation exam, she set a goal of getting over 9 points in literature.

During the review process in class, the teacher guides students on how to approach the topic, how to solve the problem, how to do the test in the best and most creative way... In these ways, the teacher divides them into different small ways.

"I didn't go to extra classes, I just studied in class and at home. On the day of the graduation exam, I wrote 12 pages of literature. I finished the test 5 minutes before the end of the exam and used this time to check my work," Quynh Anh said.

According to Quynh Anh, after knowing she got a 10 in literature, she told her father the news, but her mother was at work so she couldn't text: "Dad was happy and congratulated me, but he also felt a bit sorry and encouraged me because I didn't get the score I originally set for math."

In addition to the 10 points in literature, the female student's other exam scores were 7.8 in math; 8.5 in history; 9.25 in geography; 9 in civics; and 8.4 in English. The candidate's total score for admission to block C00 was 27.75 points.

Quynh Anh also said that she was admitted to her first choice at Foreign Trade University through the early combined admission method.

According to Mr. Ha Van Hai - Principal of My Tho High School, during her three years of high school, Quynh Anh was an excellent student. In the provincial excellent student competition in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, Quynh Anh won third and second prizes in literature. The female student was commented to have very good thinking and ability, her writings explained issues clearly, coherently and deeply.

In addition to Quynh Anh's score of 10, Mr. Hai said that in 2019, the school also had the only student in the whole country who achieved a score of 10 in literature.

Meanwhile, Huynh Hong Nhu (Chu Van An High School, Hong Ngu City, Dong Thap Province) said she burst into tears when she learned that she got a score of 10 in literature in the 2024 high school graduation exam.

"I focus on studying all subjects, but I study English the most because I am in the provincial team of excellent students. I also spend time on literature and math, trying to have the most balance possible.

I have now passed my wish to study investment economics at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics. I will keep my wish and think more about the trade economics major," Hong Nhu said.

Mr. Duong Tan Si, principal of Chu Van An High School (Hong Ngu City, Dong Thap Province), said that the school was very happy because for the first time, a student scored 10 points in literature in the graduation exam. The school also had a number of students score 9 and 9.5 points in literature.

Hong Nhu was an excellent student in literature in middle school, and in high school she studied literature and English in parallel. In the 2023-2024 school year, Nhu won third prize in the provincial excellent student competition in English.
