The network aims to expand relations between China and Vietnam in the fields of education, science and technology; improve the quality of training highly skilled human resources for Vietnam; and support the development of the integration process in the fields of science and education.
By participating in the Vietnam-China University Network, members can develop diverse cooperation activities such as: implementing joint research and training projects; coordinating the organization of scientific events; exchanging information, documents and scientific publications; exchanging staff, lecturers, students, etc.
“Promoting cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries through the Network will also help Vietnam improve the quality of its team of experts, master many advanced technologies, and contribute to creating breakthroughs for the country's socio-economic development in the era of development,” said Hanoi National University.
The two universities also agreed to consider establishing a Vietnam-China Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Laboratory between the two higher education institutions, as well as having representatives at the universities.
The Memorandum of Understanding demonstrates a commitment to strengthening cooperation in the field of digital education, jointly addressing the opportunities and challenges brought about by artificial intelligence (AI) and online education.
Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Tsinghua University established a relationship in 2006. In August 2024, the two universities signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in research, exchange of lecturers and researchers, students, coordination in organizing seminars, academic conferences, exchange of documents in education, research, publishing and academic information.
The Global MOOC and Online Education Alliance was initiated by Tsinghua University in 2020, and serves as the Secretariat. The alliance currently has 23 members from 16 countries. In the coming time, Tsinghua University will provide comprehensive support for Vietnam National University, Hanoi to join this alliance, thereby connecting and cooperating with the world's leading schools.
