Two French military planes collided in the air

Two French Air Force jets collided in mid-air during a demonstration flight, fortunately no one was killed in the incident.

According to French Air Force officials, both pilots and a passenger ejected safely and were found conscious. No civilian casualties were reported in the incident.

According to Fox News, the collision between two Alpha Jet training aircraft occurred on March 25 in Villiers-en-Lieu, near Air Force Base No. 113 and the town of Saint-Dizier in the northeastern province of Haute-Marne (France).

Footage released by French media shows a squadron of six Alpha Jets performing acrobatics while releasing colored smoke in the shape of the national flag. Two of the planes collided and spiraled. The planes crashed to the ground and burst into flames.

French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu also confirmed the incident and wrote on the X platform that rescue forces were present at the scene: "They suffered minor injuries and were taken for care. Thanks to the emergency services who arrived promptly, my condolences to the pilots of the Patrouille de France."

The two crashed aircraft belonged to the Patrouille de France aerobatic team of the French Air Force. The team was founded in 1953 with carefully selected pilots. The Alpha Jet is a training aircraft that can act as a light attack aircraft, manufactured by the French company Dassault and the German aircraft contractor Dornier Flugzeugwerke.
