Localities in Ha Tinh have harvested 43,712/44,568 hectares of summer-autumn rice, reaching 98.1% of the total area. According to the industry, the rice yield this crop is estimated at 50.28 quintals/ha and the output is estimated at 224,093 tons.
In the 2023 summer-autumn crop, the whole province produced 44,568/44,891 hectares of rice, reaching 99.3% of the plan. Regarding the variety structure, localities mainly planted varieties with a growing period of less than 110 days. Of which: the group of widely adapted and stable varieties is 35,378 hectares, accounting for 79.4% of the total area, including 15 varieties such as: Huong Thom 1, Thien Uu 8, Xuan Mai, Nep 98...; the group of promising varieties is 4,873 hectares, accounting for 10.9% of the area, including 20 varieties such as: Ha Phat 3, Nep Huong, Huong Thanh 8, Huong Binh...; varieties outside the structure are 1,035 hectares, accounting for 2.3% of the area.

To achieve a successful summer-autumn crop, localities have directed farmers to take full advantage of favorable weather days to quickly harvest areas before the forecast of rain.
As of the morning of September 17, the whole province had harvested more than 43,712/44,568 hectares, reaching over 98.1%. According to the review, some localities have completed the harvest such as: Cam Xuyen (9,082 hectares), Can Loc (8,999 hectares), Duc Tho (3,976 hectares), Huong Khe (2,118 hectares) and Vu Quang (365 hectares).
This year's summer-autumn rice crop is bountiful and prices are high, so farmers are excited.
According to Mr. Phan Van Huan - Head of Cultivation Department, Ha Tinh Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection, thanks to compliance with the crop calendar and variety structure; proactively preventing pests and diseases and taking advantage of good weather to speed up the harvest, this year's summer-autumn crop has basically achieved success.
In the coming time, the Department will continue to coordinate with localities to urge farmers to continue harvesting the remaining summer-autumn rice area. In addition, in rainy weather conditions, localities need to review and contact local drying facilities to prepare conditions for drying rice for people to minimize post-harvest losses; proactively connect with organizations and individuals to consume rice and other agricultural products for people...
