Nature has endowed the capital with a rich system of natural tourism resources. From a climate with four distinct seasons, to a variety of terrains including fertile plains to mountainous regions...

Ecological landscape systems with Ba Vi National Park, Huong Son scenic area, Vien Nam mountain landscape... and some agricultural spaces such as specialized tree belts in districts: Thanh Tri, Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Hoai Duc... flower and ornamental tree growing belts in Bac Tu Liem, Dong Anh, Me Linh... have a long tradition.

Outstanding products include eco-tourism, health care, and herbal baths of the Dao people in Ba Vi district; experiential activities at Duong Lam ancient village (Son Tay town); Quang Phu Cau incense sticks (Ung Hoa); community tourism in Thach That district... Hanoi's green tourism products not only produce agricultural products for urban areas, but also provide natural and humane landscapes for tourism development, especially rural tourism and farm tourism.

Developing green tourism and digital tourism is not only an inevitable trend, but also a direction towards sustainable development of tourism in the capital. Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu shared that in the coming time, the department will organize many survey teams with the participation of travel agencies, to help localities build products suitable to the needs of tourists, thereby increasing the connectivity of tours and tourist routes, exploiting the strengths of community tourism and green tourism, contributing to helping the capital's tourism develop more professionally and effectively...

Developing tourism to elevate the capital

In the coming time, Hanoi needs to focus on implementing key solutions to develop tourism commensurate with the strengths of the capital: Such as investing in building infrastructure and technical facilities for tourism in a synchronous, professional, modern, and environmentally friendly direction.

Develop a variety of accommodation types, from high-end accommodation systems (4-5 star hotels, high-end tourist apartments, tourist villas) to 1-3 star hotel systems, tourist motels, houses with rooms for tourists to rent (homestays), tourist villages, tourist accommodation ships...

In addition, promote the development of diverse, unique, high-quality tourism, suitable to market demand and world trends. Such as cultural heritage tourism, spiritual tourism, craft village tourism, community tourism model - a form of tourism business based on natural resources, local cultural characteristics to develop tourism.

In addition, raising awareness of tourism development to truly become a spearhead economic sector, creating a strong driving force for the development of other sectors and fields, contributing significantly to the formation of a modern economic structure. It is necessary to further promote propaganda, advertising, tourism promotion, and develop domestic and foreign tourist markets.

Dr. Cao Viet Sinh, former Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, said: In order for Hanoi to become a fast and sustainable growth pole of the whole country, it is necessary to clearly identify where Hanoi stands and what position it has in the general list of the whole country, from there, there is a direction to shift the economic structure to increase growth towards increasing industry and services, including tourism.

Prof. Dr. Pham Trung Luong, former Deputy Director of the Institute of Tourism Research, General Department of Tourism, proposed: Hanoi needs to do better and promote more effectively its strengths in terms of numerous and special historical relics that no other locality can keep up with, even many world cultural heritages to develop tourism while at the same time planning effective waste sources, contributing to the "net-zero" goal that the Government is committed to implementing.
